I fully approve of this headline.

+1.

And yes, talk to the Bruins and Oilers about Samsonov's performance.

He had 14 goals and 18 assists in 38 games with the Hurricanes,

That's better than respectable.

Rev.K: And yes, talk to the Bruins and Oilers about Samsonov's performance.

When the boy is on, his puckhandling is beautiful.

Sadly, that happened only about 7% of the time he was on the ice as an Oiler.

Thanks a lot, I've been trying to forget about that fact for a while now.

she he's cold, he's colder than a dead penguin's vagina at the south pole in a blizzard. When he's hot, he's great.

that should say "when he's cold"

cripes, I'm all burnt out from test writing.

I saw him play during his short sting in Montreal. When he decides to play he can handle the puck as well as Kovalev, problem is that's like 0.5% of the time IF that!

HAHAHAHA

Nice headline.

I guess someone panicked after the Nonis firing.

What the hell are they thinking? Samsonov is a guy who should be getting paid by the shift, not a three year contract.

Carolina is still light years ahead of the Maple Leafs

As a Habs fan.... BWAAHAHAHAHAHAAA HOOHOOHOOHOOWAAAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously, here's hoping he can actually produce for the money he's making there. But I seen him enough to know that if he doesn't feel like playing, he's not going to. Physically he'll be out there, but mentally he'll be playing Donald Duck cartoons in his head.

Does this mean we're going to jack up the ticket prices again after another successful season? It's one thing to jack up ticket prices after you win the Cup, but after a year-long lockout? Fine way to win fans over.

When they basically doubled ticket prices over the span of two years is when I stopped giving a crap for good. It's just a matter of time before the RBC Center isn't good enough and their douchebag owner decides to move the team again.

All that said, SPHL games are pretty badass. $20 gets you first row against the boards. Good times without being raped by owners who could care less.

Probably not. Samsonov is a guy who will play great when his contract is up, like it was last season. Now that he's got a guaranteed three more years, it'll be back to 15 goals and 35 points a season.

/got burned by Samsonov twice in hockey pools ... never again!

Except for the fact that he was the second most productive player on the team after he was signed behind Eric Staal. From the canes website: "Acquired by the Hurricanes on waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 8, the Moscow native scored 14 goals, earned 18 assists (32 points) and had a plus/minus rating of plus-7 in 38 games with Carolina."

Also, in my eyes they did not miss the playoffs. In a sane world having more wins than THREE teams that made the playoffs would get you in.

Yeah, he's really gonna kick it up a notch for you in the 2010-2011 season when he's playing for a contract again. He'll score more goals in the final season of his contract than the first two combined...unless he's moved again before that.

They deserved to miss the playoffs with the epic chokejob they pulled during the last couple of weeks to hand the last spot to the Caps. Put Brind'Amour in the lineup, and no way in hell that happens. It's too bad he was hurt for most of the year.

I guess the only consolation that 'Canes fans can take from this is that we don't have to play the Slugs in a seven game series this year. We're still rebuilding from the last time their asshole fans stayed in town over a weekend in '06.

calm like a bomb: They deserved to miss the playoffs with the epic chokejob they pulled during the last couple of weeks to hand the last spot to the Caps. Put Brind'Amour in the lineup, and no way in hell that happens. It's too bad he was hurt for most of the year.

So if the Canes choke job was epic, how big was Ottawa's? Best start EVARR!!!!!11!!! and they squeaked in. Canes totally shattered the previous franchise high with over 350 games lost due to injury. two of those guys were all-stars. I wouldn't call it the Canes choking, so much as Washington blowing their wad before they got to the playoffs.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here, I think we overpaid a little, but to say the money was thrown away is a little overboard.
