Anyone confusing the immigration issue with racism is deliberately clouding the issue.

Putting an easy-for-stupid-people-to-leap-to conclusion out there like that is just culture trolling.

"You just don't like Messicans". Yeah dude, that's it exactly. And if we had six million Canadians hopping the border and invading the northeast, I'd still be only trying to deport Hispanics and I'd let the white guys stay. Hey, long as they white, it's a-right!

NO.

Wrong.

Hey! Taxes again.

On the one hand, TFA is overflowing with fail. The IRS doesn't share its records with anyone else in the alphabet soup (26 USC 6103). There is also a system whereby people who do not qualify for social security Numbers (for whatever reason) can get an identifying number that the IRS is happy to accept for any and all tax purposes (collection, refund, W-2, &c). Fill out a W-7, get your ITIN in the mail, and as far as the Service is concerned, you're golden. That I-9 from the Department of Labor might be a little trickier, but the DoL actually cares who's legal to work in the US.

As to the question of efficiently solving the problem of illegal immigrants/undocumented workers, the solution seems to me to be a simple one. First, rather than spending money on more border cops, spend money on more judges. Second, establish in law the hiring of illegals as a tortious interference in a competitor's business with RICO-style damages. Third, watch half the service and construction industry sue the other half out of existence. Illegals are popular because they are cheap. Torts are an easy way to make things more expensive.

wowzer97pooh: Alveen, crime is caused by criminals--and illegal aliens are all criminals--being allowed to continue their criminal lifestyle. If they can get away with it, they will commit crime.

People who can make $40K a weekend smuggling drugs and people are not hopeless nor do they discourage their children from a life of crime. Not all illegals are violent criminals but there are more than enough to spoil the lives of innocent people who would never have met up with the felons if the immigration laws had been enforced.

So what you're trying to say is that you're a troll. Sorry, guess I didn't pick up on the sarcasm of your Boobies.

eff ewe: mr0x: For all of these, don't you have to meet a dozen people and have a dozen thick files of documents and verifications of all sorts?

Teachers are (ostensibly) interested in educating people. They are not interested (nor trained) in spying for Big Brother, reporting suspected illegals to the MiniTru.

Medical caregivers are interested in providing medical care to people (except for socalnewwaver, who doesn't want to be "negatively impacted").

... and so on.

To get admitted to a university, you don't speak to teachers. It's the staff you talk to and they make you sign a zillion pieces of paper.

To get medical care, you need to talk to someone on the desk who asks you to fill out a zillion paperwork while you wait.

You can't just walk to a university and start taking classes.

Headso: 20 million illegals paying 9 billion in taxes and using X billion in local/state/federal services, what does x = ?

fernt: Headso: 20 million illegals paying 9 billion in taxes and using X billion in local/state/federal services, what does x = ?

THIS

The nine billion was only how much they paid to Social Security, not taxes overall. Headso, RTFA. fernt, don't listen to Headso.

my hospital writes off $1 million every farking month in "unfunded care", which is a pc way of referring to health care administered to illegals.

And, as a result of the charitable care provided, your hospital is likely exempt from both property and income taxes.

Yeah, I'm a troll.

I come into Fark to laugh my ass off. I have needed a great deal of humor in my life lately and I enjoy laughing so hard I almost pass out.

There are subjects that I try to participate in. Illegal aliens, Communist China, Israel's actions in the middle East, the Iraqi war, and a few other topics.

Trolls call people names like "racist" and "xenophobic". Trolls call all illegals "mexicans". But I'm the troll for trying to point out that a large enough portion of illegal aliens are violent criminals that will kill and harm citizens if they are allowed into this country and allowed to stay in this country.

Most importantly, I, unlike the enlightened, am not willing to allow lower and middle class Americans suffer terribly at the hands of violent illegal aliens just so business can profit. Global economic forces always have local consequences and the trolls who ignore those consequences on Americans have a particularly heinous agenda.

studebaker hoch: You know what the Mexicans have done?

BUST THEIR ASSES TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF THEIR LIVES.

Unlike half the weed-smoking, K-fed listening, X-box playing white boys out there that SHOULD be the pillar of the United States but are instead just pissing their lives away with zero responsibilities and zero goals for a better American future.

They just didn't want it. The Mexicans did, and went to the trouble to get it.

It looks to me like they're earning their place, buying the condemned house and fixing it up while Precious Johnny Whiteboy spends his money on a POS Accura with a tin-can muffler, and heads to the mall with his "posse".

/Dumbasses. You didn't raise your kids to think, and this is what you get. Overrun by people you should have easily been about to out-compete and out-perform. How totally embarrasing.

if only that were true.... never been one for the mall... but I do like my Xbox...First I hardly call illegaly entering a country under minimum security busting your ass to make a better life they are theives they theive our jobs and they thieve our money that could go into OUR economy While those mexicans are busting their ass and making something of their lives I am managing them and making more money a day than they would in a week back home. if mexicans were such ass busters why are most of them in the entry level positions never to leave? cmon with the racist shait. oh wait they weren't smart enough to get citizenship first. so your so called ass busters don't have a choice but to bust ass because they are uneducated thieves.

nosferatv: I could be wrong... but...

If you're living in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas (the places most affected and angered by the immigration dilemma), you are living on land forcibly taken from Mexico.

Which forcibly took the land from Native Americans (*hint: dark-skinned mexicans are descendants of Indians).

They were here first. Just sayin'...

Forcibly taken = Paid 15 million and all other national debt was forgiven. Land changes hands, been that way for a while. Mexico agreed to the deal

Oh yeah... Texas? No, they declared and fought for their independence.
I think that Mexico did pretty good. the sat on a parcel of land for twenty some years and made + $15 million. 40 some years early, the Louisiana purchase was made for $11.? million, for a similar size piece of land. With inflation, the sale price was similar.

The difference? The French are not still whining about it.

Any law that isn't going to be enforced should be repealed, and every law on the books should then be enforced. Selective enforcement leads to corrupt behaviour

2008-04-15 02:29:15 PM
Didn't the Mexicans seize the western US from the Spanish when they declared independence?

And didn't the Spanish take it from the Aztecs or other central-Mexican tribes? Who "got" it from other tribes?

And didn't the Aztecs never actually make it that far north, so it was really the Apaches?

And the Apaches are STILL HERE?

I'm confused now. When Mexico says "We own this land" I say "You have been one of many historic owners".

Who really owns it? What if there were some small clan of people who, through DNA evidence, could be shown to be among the very first humans to cross the Bering land bridge? Could these people legally say "We own the North American and South American continents, they were illegally seized from our ancestors at the end of the Pleistocene epoch, everybody else is here illegally, now get out"?

It's the same reason nobody is taking the Mexican claim seriously.

You lost it, in a different time in history, when it evidently wasn't as important to you as it is today. Signed a treaty (and a small purchase later on). You don't like the deal? It's your old presidente's fault, not people living in Los Angeles today.

Get.over.it.

You can come here, if you do it legally, and have full US citizen rights if you want them. There is no racism trying to keep you out. There is a naturalization issue, but the same rules apply to white boys from Canada too.

Get in line.

eff ewe: Rea1ity56: What would all of you do for survival if you were so poor that you had no food or shelter? On top of that, if the little money you did have was taken away from the government? If you had no way to provide any type of healthcare for yourself or your family?

Based on some of the Minutemen in this thread, I believe we're supposed to pine away, staring blankly across the river at the opportunity we could have had if only God has bestowed upon us the gift of American citizenship.

Thank heaven for being "good" enough to have been born north of the border.

Or maybe the US is the way it is, because of the people who are in it. Maybe if there was less acceptance and apathy of corruption in Central america, maybe, just maybe the economy wouldn't suck, and it would be a good place to live.
Maybe the US respect for law (in general) has something to do with safety and quality of life in the US.

The people have no choice but to accept the corruption in those countries. Unlike here, if they were to try standing up and protesting in any way, they would be killed. My wife has an uncle who was tortured in one of these countries because of his political views.

Also, it's not just their own government that's oppressing the people. The US government plays a part in it also. Mainly because it's more money in our government's pockets. So in a sense, our government is partly responsible for the flow of illegal immigrants crossing the border.

2008-04-15 04:39:47 PM
Not surprising at all. It has been clear that the US government doesn't care, at the highest levels. Border patrol on the other hand, bust ass trying to keep up.

If Mexico allowed weapons, I bet their government would suck less, even if only marginally so.

If the illegals are A Ok with bush, why doesn't he stand the Border Patrol. I guess for me, the answer would be to shiat or get off the pot. Decide to defend the borders, and do it, or decide not to, and stop wasting money on partial enforcement.

But that would require a decision to be made, and I feel that decisions are hard for poor little Bushie

I don't understand why Mexico isn't as developed as the USA.

They have a big country, full of natural resources, oil, iron, you name it. Beautiful fertile areas, so fertile they're jungle, tons of rainfall, natural lakes, hundreds of miles of beach, beautiful oceans, and there are still even some fish. Americans pay big bucks just to go see it for a week a time.

WTF?

Dudes, work it. that's a GOOD country. Go to the Middle East or places in Africa and I can show you some bad ones.

You have it made. You live in a paradise. You're so close to Colombia that pure cocaine is cheaper than sugar, and better in coffee.

I don't get it. Not at all.
