Possibly. More likely, that they showed the DA/Sheriff a copy of them having consensual sex and the DA/Sheriff thought that was enough for him to suspend the investigation because he thought if this prostitute is in to this one time, there cannot be a legitimate rape case.

Without knowing more, I wouldn't be surprised that a rape actually took place.

But they didn't suspend the investigation. In fact, they went back a second time when they found out about the taping.
