WolfinPHX: DerPups: see ive already been to work for the day, so while everyone else here is slaving away, i am going to take a glorious nap

This is a benefit of being unemployed since yesterday I plan on enjoying should it be necessary later today.

There's also the George Costanza-approved trick of frowning at the computer incessantly, punctuating occasionally with a frustrated hand gesture or two. That makes you look pretty busy.

I have lost count of the times that I was in a fark thread, typing away at 90 wpm, and the boss walks by and says "Wow, so busy!" at the sound of the clickity-clack of the keyboard.

territ: I am sore! Spent the weekend tearing up my backyard deck, installing a koi pond, and robbing the rest of the yard for flat stones to decorate the pond with.

Behold, our masterpiece (I'd link it here, but images are disabled):

THE POND!

It is freakin' zen.

That is a pretty sweet pond. Complete with its own man in lotus position, as well!

I'm questioning my sanity at taking 18 credit hours staggered May through September. Accelerated pace through the summer too. All online at least, so I can study and from the comfort of home.

This is why I enjoy playing on MUD's while at work. To anyone who walks by it's just console/command prompt type text and it looks like I'm furiously at work. When I'm really trying to hack that new corporate LTG node.

THE POND!

Total of 4 full days. Started last weekend. Bought a hand saw and had the husband cut the deck up. Then we removed all the cut boards, and started digging.

Went to Lowes and bought the pre-fab black plastic liner thing, and arranged thr dirt around it. That was last weekend. This most recent weekend we arranged rocks all around the edges and put some plants in. Then installed the filter and pumps.

Added $10 worth of tester feeder goldfish and they seem happy enough. Now we just have to finish it off with more plants around the perimeter.

I'm thinking maybe some milkweed to attract butterflies.

And whoever asked? Probably no skinny dipping. It's barely 2 feet deep, and my neighbors are always in their back yards peeping through the fence.

Despite my antics in this thread over the past week, I'm not that much of an exhibitionist, hee.

That is exactly why I quit my job and went back after a six year absence from school. Everything was cool up until my old company got bought out. Gave us literally three times as much to do, same amount of pay, cut pay, took away perks. I'd show up most nights just to make sure my rent and bills got paid. I refuse to let that happen again, so it means more education and a couple of degrees.
