Teh suck is strong in coldplay. From the continuous falsetto to the repetition of the same 3-5 notes over and over and over again, teh suck is strong.

i figure the best approach to that kind of humor is to just take it and run with it, wearing it like a badge.

Insult/Joke: "you're gay"
Riposte: "yup, semen slobbering nob gobbler be me."

Insult joke: "you're an idiot!"
Riposte: "yup, i drool into paper cups and vote republican."

etc

Best Coldplay song evar:

Blue (new window)

/No Rickroll, promise.

I just wish Coldplay would finally admit that they took Clocks, changed the tempo a little bit, and then re-released it as Speed of Sound. The songs are freakin' identical.

Extras is far from obscure or anywhere close to being so.

I love Coldplay! It's what i listen to on planes, trains and buses when i'm going somewhere far. It's my mellow leaving for somewhere music.

Shazam999: I went to a Coldplay concert with my wife a few years ago. It was awesome. The crowd was 90% hot chicks.

Two things:

1) You were there with your wife, so you really couldn't have done anything. (Unless you happen to be a swinger, but that's a small chance.)

2) My SO is all excited about New Kids on the Block going on tour. And while many of those gawky looking girls from 1990 have turned into hot chicks, there is no way in hell I'm going.

Also, both of those songs are like torture to me. Slow... easy listening... elevator music torture. We are going to BORE YOU TO DEATH!!!

2) You wouldn't have done anything either, you pussified little twerp.

Eh, I happen to love Coldplay. Fantastic trip and/or driving music, mellow with a good melody. I do agree that a lot of the more recent stuff sounds the same, but Parachutes and Rush of Blood to the Head are two of my all-time favorite albums. Good lyrics, good music, good times.

/and for those who feel that listening to Coldplay makes you gay, get back to me after high school, mmkay?

yeah, but any clown whoever picked up a recorder and played "hot cross buns", who has any finger dexterity whatsoever, can learn "clocks" in about 15 minutes, perfect it in an hour, and get laid before the end of the day.

/chicks dig bad music. (insert boy-band here) for instance.

eh, repetition is fine . . . but it should be remotely interesting.

Computer Love is orders of magnitude better than Talk

no, my point above was that i don't like horrible music.

by the way coldplay people: try listening to belle & sebastian or feist. similar kind of relaxed feel, but so much better.

As someone who has a collection of sleep inducing albums, I'm really wondering how the heck anyone can sleep to Coldplay...

I think "Talk" is brilliant. Or at least, the remixes are. Any group that jacks a hook from Kraftwerk and gets a hit out of it deserves some props.

I listen to Dark Side Of the Moon (anywhere AFTER Time's beginning) or Animals to fall asleep...God knows those aren't bad albums...
