The mark of the beast, so called because it was first used to identify and control animals [beasts]

the mark of the beast will be administered from someplace in europe, so it makes sense to have the beta chips installed there.
Thailand has some fancy micro assembly gear that we outsourced and extincted over here..and, they work in sweat shops. the antenna is very fancy...

later a modified version of the same system will be implanted into humans
kids, medical cases, soldiers, criminals first, then anyone wanting to travel [enter: silicone curtain]

after the big world crash of ~2016 [time for nuther one, stochastically]
all persons & animals will be required to be tagged,
all monetary functions will be tied to a person's unique acct #

we already know what govts do when peasents do not obey...historically speaking.

hc wants desperately to start this immediately,
Barack Obama would lay down his life to stop or delay it..

I would be so hasty to jump to conclusions that there is no risk of the "exact same factory, using the exact same materials" to make knock-offs. Several of my client's and colleagues have to monitor their Asian manufacturers all the time for exactly that very thing and its not exactly a small percentage they find doing it.
.

I'm only specifically talking about Thailand, as that's where I work at the moment. The '3rd shift' producing fake shoes/shirts/jackets isn't really a problem these days like it was 20 years ago, though I don't doubt its common in China. You can buy 'near brand' shoes and bags in Bangkok, but they are never the exact same name or design as the real thing, and they don't come from the same factory. The type of manufacturing going on these days, automobiles, computers, electronics, etc, cannot be stolen on a large scale like that anyway, and really it wouldn't be allowed anyway as it scares off foreign investment. The odds of them running a 3rd shift for fake passports are absolutely zero.

Time Traveler: We should have enough people from Thailand living here so that we don't have to do this!! Why can't we use our own Thailanders to do this??

aRabidLunatic: buenohead: Personally, I believe we should begin outsourcing all of our work.

Now hear me out:
The only reason we outsource work is to save money, leaving more money in our pockets. This decision is made at the company level, but the demand for the decision is actually made by the end consumers (anyone who pursues a good deal). Outsourcing is just the means to that end.

Now it is true that if we outsource all of our work, we will not have any jobs. However, things will be so cheap that it won't matter.

with no jobs, where is the money to buy these cheap things? are we going back to the bartering system? maybe I'll give you two fingers and half a kidney for your brain?

LOL! I can't stop laughing.

Just like there is no risk that assembling a $1500 Gucci bag in Thailand would result in $100 "counterfeits" made from the exact same materials showing up on the streets of Bangkok.

From the exact same materials, from the same factory? No, there is no risk of that.

Yo, TMBGfreak,

Besides the language, Ireland has the easiest requirements for becoming an EU citizen if you really want to go all the way.

I'm an American and have been living in Germany for about 7 years now and don't plan to head back any time soon. I didn't plan to stay away, but I moved here in July, 2001 and things seem to have gotten ugly back home in my absence (not my fault).

Don't believe the anti-Europe propaganda. I have had insurance for the first time since moving away from my parents. That means I can actually get a wisdom tooth pulled if I need to, and I don't have to check my bank account after a bike wreck to decide whether or not to go to the hospital.
Plus, I am working on a doctorate for approximately no dollars a semester, and I can speak a foreign language.

On the down side, I can't carry a gun.

I'm not an America hater. I am actually very proud of the ideas upon which the US was founded. I'm just rather disgusted by recent political developments if you know what I mean. If you don't, flame on.

Weigh your options and I'll pick you up at the airport.

I'm not exactly sure what you said. But, no Thai living in America has a sister working in a garment factory in Thailand. They make about 6$ per day, no Thai is going to allow their sister to work there when they make American money. You friend bought some bags in a market, they didn't get them cause the sister works in a Gucci factory turning out extra bags during a midnight shift.

How long have you worked for the Bush Commerce Department?

For two years until they let me go last week. They outsourced my job to Pakistan.

But I was told that it was for the greater good, so I'm cool with it. Plus, they're paying less for the new guy, so I would imagine the savings will be passed on to us all in the form of tax reductions.

I heard they had some ease on their existing requirements if you are of Irish decent. My great-grandfather came over from Cork about a century ago. Is that too far gone? As for right now, I have two more years of college, so I am just trying to get an internship there next summer to solidify employment before I leave.

Plus I'm going to S. Africa for the world cup in 2010 after I graduate.

TMBGfreak:
Don't remember exactly. Personally, I'm not interested in dumping the US citizenship (see the aforementioned pride).

And As I recall (GIS for more accurate data), there is a residency requirement (live in Ireland for so many years) and another rather subjective requirement like "applicant must be of good moral character," which in Ireland probably means "applicant can hold his drink and occasionally buys a round."

As for the Irish Great-Grandpa thing, I think that that might be a bit outdated. Not sure, but most European countries have done away with bloodline-related political decisions. Mostly because of the history of country where I'm living now, I expect.

Like I said, my desire to move back to Florida is a little lower every day (especially now that I got me a German woman and a half-German baby), but I am proud to be an American even if I am an expat. Maybe hard to understand, but I think you'll find that many non-military Americans living abroad are critical of the US not out of antipathy, but out of a kind of disappointment that the distant perspective provides.

Hope that makes some sense.

True story from back when I lived in Bonn:

A girl I knew married a guy from Zaire (now DRoK) and had a baby, as sometímes happens. She went down to the embassy to get the kid a passport.

The embassy building was the private property of the then Prez Mobutu, not the government. The diplomats were privateers. They got no pay, just the diplomatic status and the right to live in the place. They sold passports at whatever price they could get and kept the profits.

Her husband negotiated the price for some time. He had to pay cash in advance. Then they left. About a month later, the diplomats had got together enough orders and drove down to Belgium (not far from Bonn, and Congo was a Belgian colony) to the printers and got a bunch of passports printed.

Free markets FTW!

2008-03-27 05:21:14 PM
One other thing to consider, TMBGfreak...

I used to live in Tallahassee which has (or at least HAD until 2001 when I left) the highest number of beautiful women per square foot of any place I know.

You might expect Ireland to be populated by red-haired fairies draped in gossamer, but you'd be terribly wrong.
My apologies to the Irish in the forum, but the women in the Republic of Ireland (I've never been to the North) were an awful disappointment.

Pints and chips are not good for the figure and the perpetual fashion in Dublin seems to be terry-cloth track suits. If you're looking to move to Europe for beautiful women go to Poland. Trust me. Hard to believe, I know, but TRUST ME.

2008-03-27 05:32:28 PM
The real problem here is that these are the "E" passports that contain the RFID tags...which means that should some other government or nefarious organization get their hands on the squencing parameters then they can not only counterfit the passports...they can counterfit your identity...

Somebody really needs to go to prison for this...and the Sec. State needs to loose her job...and it would probably be a good idea to scrap the entire design of the new passports and do something completely different...

\two cents

2008-03-27 05:36:23 PM
McSplanky:

The women have to be an improvement over Indiana. And I'm not interested in dumping citizenship at all, I'd just like to keep my options open as far as where I move at any given point.

Ryan2065: TheMega: Nothing like outsourcing more and more jobs to help the economy! At'a boy Bushy boy!

Outsourcing doesn't necessarily hurt the economy. Look at how many jobs we have sent overseas and then look at the unemployment rate compared to the 80s and 90s.

It has to do with our actual GDP and the increase in service-related jobs as opposed to production-related jobs. We don't actually make anything, so its all just money being changed hands and inflation.
