Hobodeluxe: Looks like the NAFTA thing is about to rear it's head again too. Shuster and NBC are pushing it.
That whole Peter Paul thing is waiting in the wings too.
It kind of makes it's own narrative.
Hillary is a big fat liar.

And they have no defense for it beyond their "Obama is a meanie for telling the truth about me" strategy, which is weak as hell.

I think that the kill shot on the Clinton candidacy is being lined up. It's obvious that even if she wins big in PA, which is the only remaining primary I can really see her winning big in, she has to pull some seriously shady shiat to win, which will demoralize the party entirely. Meanwhile, if Obama does get the nomination, are the Clinton-backers really going to stay home or vote for McCain? Maybe some of the shrill harpies on hillaryis44.com, but that's about it. It's much less harm to the party than usurping the process and jamming Hillary onto the ticket to get her ass whipped by McCain.

I was reading a great comment this morning. I'll repost it here:

It is not just that she misspoke on this one occasion: the story was repeated at several venues, embellishing as needed each time.It was repeated with the robotic precision that Sen. Clinton brings to all her statements.

It was something worse than a lie. It was Bullshiat.

What is the difference? The essay On Bullshiat by the Philosopher H. G. Frankfurt (in 1986) argues the a liar at least cares about what is true. Not the bullshiatter. He says,


Her statement is not germane to the enterprise of describing reality. .. Her description of her own feeling is, accordingly, something that she is merely making up. She concocts it out of whole cloth; or, if she got it from someone else, she is repeating it quite mindlessly and without any regard for how things really are.


Frankfurt wrote this perfect description of Sen. Clinton's recent speeches back in 1986! He is on to a phenomenon of nature here, for which he developed much needed theoretical analysis:


One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshiat. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted. Most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize bullshiat and to avoid being taken in by it. So the phenomenon has not aroused much deliberate concern, or attracted much sustained inquiry. In consequence, we have no clear understanding of what bullshiat is, why there is so much of it, or what functions it serves.


You might ask, what about Bush, Cheney and Judith Miller? They are liars. Their lies were about much more important matters and cost the lives of thousands. Still, at some level even Cheney seems to be aware that such a thing as truth exists. Even if he finds it useful to make stuff up when it suits him. Only the Clintons show total unawareness of the very idea of truth, even about their most intimate feelings.

The most insidious thing about Bullshiat is that it can never be refuted. A lie you can disprove. Being totally unrelated to truth, Bullshiat can be transformed into anything you want,after you are caught. Even YouTube cannot kill it completely. There will be Bullshiat artists who will say till the end of time that Hillary Clinton ran to avoid sniper fire with her head held down in Tuzla that day.

I wasn't aware of it until today, but in some thread, someone posted a pic of chelsea holding up a baby shirt that said "my mom is getting her ass kicked by a negro"

she was wearing a huge grin

how the hell is it possible that obama is getting slammed for remarks by his pastor, but hillarys daughter can advertise -with amusment- a shirt that can be taken as highly obscene and racist and nobody says a word?

WHY?
