I'm sure the bank robbers will be happy to comply with the rules of the bank.

Schilng,

the idea is that it'll be easy to ID the robbers as they will be the ones wearing the masks/burkas.

FTA: "It's going to be incumbent on the banks to approach them, engage them and find out if they're there to do banking, which obviously the majority of those are obviously not, and if not, to leave the bank," said Yeo.

Are you here to pillage and rob or to do your banking?

Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis Templeman wore those glasses because her eyes were freakishly set apart & she was very self-conscious about it, plus Gore Vidal says she lost her virginity in a Paris elevator

I hate it when those young women wear those black wrap around Jackie Onassis sunglasses. They're super annoying to look at, IMHO.

Yeah, 'cause that'll work.

I like Heamer's idea. Just make sure the tellers abide by the policy, too.

I was in a bank here in Minnesota with a sign on the door announcing the new policy of no hoodies, hats, or sun glasses in the lobby. Right.

It was right next to the sign saying that "Guns were not allowed on the premises".

How stupid can these vice presidents get? The "no guns" sign simply says, when translated, "Come on in here and waive your gun around when you are robbing us, knowing you've got the only gun in the bank". As for the new dress code, no self-respecting bank robber is going to pay attention to it whatsoever.

Why is it that Canada has completely forgotten what the constitution is?

/And why is everyone guilty until proven innocent?

Why would foil robbers be going to a bank? The bank doesn't keep foil around!

/I've got nothing here

I think the point is to make the robbers more noticeable. Most robbers only go up to one teller with a note and try to slip out without being noticed by anyone else in the bank. If they refuse to take off their hat and sunglasses it pretty much alerts everyone in the bank that something isn't right.

/When hats and sunglasses are outlawed only outlaws will have hats and sunglasses

Canada has a constitution? I thought it was just 'make it up as you go', and make a few changes along the way to please disgruntled french farmers. Given that most Canadians don't vote, who has the right to complain?

You guys ever go to the bank, or just live out of the ATM? Here in Cali every bank I enter has that "The FBI and this bank require you to remove hats, hoods and sunglasses before entering."

Some of us don't live in California. See there are 49 other states. Every once in a while you might meet someone from one of those other states.

I wear glasses with progressive lenses that get dark as fark when in the sun. So if I walk into a bank on a sunny day are they supplying me with an employee to fill out my withdrawl\deposit slip.

They could save some money out of their sign budget by cutting to the chase and replacing all of these signs with a "Please do not rob this bank" sign.

What's with banning hoods? What if it's winter and your jacket has a hood? You can't go into the bank? I go into my bank maybe twice a year on average. Maybe less actually. Thank god.

I had one of these on when I went into a bank (with the face shield up, so I could be seen). And the teller starts freaking.
'Sir you need to remove your helmet!'
"um....why"
'so we can identify you!'
"well thats why I have this helmet. The whole face flips up, so I dont have to remove and put back on my helmet every 5 minutes when I am riding around doing tasks."
'Sir I can't help you until you remove your helmet'
"well If I was a robber, I wouldn't take it off anyway. That'd just be dumb. secondly, If I was gonna rob you, dont you think I'd have done it already? You've got my drivers license and my account number, plus your camera has a clean shot at my face...I fail to see the problem here."
'Sir I need you to take off your helmet!'

well at this point it became a matter of principal. The day ended with me NOT talking off my helmet and actualy cashing my check. Of course this was pre-9/11. I'm sure if I had done this now, I would have been charged with terrorising the teller, not compling with the orders of an offical bank teller, and God knows what else.

That'll work great - Right up until someone dons a burqa, waits for a yarmulka-wearing orthodox Jew to drop by (because our society would never require chasidim to remove their religious haberdashery, rules or not), and then robs the bank.

Considering in Vancouver, the vast majority of bank security guards are sikh, and wearing their turbans, AND that Vancouver in general has a very large sikh population, AND sikhs can even ride motorcycles without a helmet in order to be able to leave their turban on (in BC), I don't think this particular new policy is going to apply to turbans. It will likely be just sunglasses, hats, hoodies, etc. Otherwise banks would lose quite a bit of business.
