I have USC winning 2 games. I'm nervous because several people I know have them in the final four.

+1 subby. Will vote for this one again at the end of the year.

Well played subby, well played.

If this is the discussion thread, can we get this greenlit now? Because Georgia-Xavier has begun.

UGA may be out of gas. Making them play the first game of the Tournament was kind of cruel.

2008-03-20 02:11:56 PM
UGA is in trouble...which is fine because i have X but still, would have liked to see them win one

2008-03-20 02:15:45 PM
Thank God, UGA has blown their lead and hopefully will get sent packing and back to reality in the next 20 minutes or so...

Either way, they had a nice little unexpected run.

Lord of Allusions: UGA may be out of gas. Making them play the first game of the Tournament was kind of cruel.

...you do realize the game has been no cakewalk for X, right?

Xavier has got this in the bag. UGA ran out of gas in the last quarter of the game.

Oh for farks sake...they had 3 days off...they are 18-22 year olds...stop the overanalysis...you don't have a network jacket on.

Go X

From the previous thread-

Anyone else think the ref's in the South bracket are calling this thing wayyyyy to tight? I the only reason Temple is even in this still is because of all of the tick-tacky fouls.

You know there was a time when they said Dean Smith would never win a national championship...

'bout damned time.

I wish Gus Johnson were calling the Xavier/UGA game... that would ease the pain of missing my "upset special" a little.

And while it's early, can we all agree that we would hate Stephan Curry is he played for Duke? Specifically, if he and JJ Redick switched athletic career settings?

Star_topology's Bracket of Integrity

Elite 8: Memphis, Texas, UCLA, Duke, UNC, Tenn, Kansas, GTown
Final 4: Texas, UNC, Kansas and... *gulp* Duke

The fun (and frustrating) part about filling out one bracket is having that one pick that could crush everything-my Duke pick. I like Duke, but their live/die by the three makes me leery to pick them over UCLA.

I like stats, and while everyone dogged me for picking the Giants over the Patriots because no team who had the league-leader in passing won the Super Bowl in the same season, it bailed me out.

I saw a stat on ESPN showed that the team who won the Maui Invitational advanced to the Final Four in the same year 7 or 8 out of the last 10 seasons (I need to research that stat to be more precise). Nonetheless, that team was Duke.

But with Duke's draw, UCLA could donkey-punch them back to Dickie V's place, and I'll be fine with that. But you don't win Bracket Challenges without making outlandish picks.

Other matchups/upset to watch... my picks in bold.

(3) Xavier vs. (14) Georgia
(4) Washington St vs. (13)Winthrop
(5) Clemson vs. (12) Villanova
(5) Michigan St. vs. (12) Temple
(6) Oklahoma vs. (11) St. Joe's
(6) USC vs. (11) Kansas St.
(7) Gonzaga vs. (10) Davidson
(7) Miami vs. (10) St. Mary's
(7) West Virginia vs. (10) Arizona

Oh, and one more time for good measure:

Not sure if I shouldn't have been cheering for Georgia this game. Only 3 out of 41 picked Georgia, 1 of them having UGA to the Sweet 16. Xavier was a Final Four pick of two or three and a handful of Elite Eight picks. Don't think anyone had them out before the Sweet 16.

/has Xavier to the Sweet 16

Checking through my pool, I figured Temple would've been a trendier pick, it's pretty much MSU across the board. I have MSU, but I wouldn't mind crippling others' brackets if they got talked into picking Temple to go far by the TV talking heads.

Look, I'm sorry South Indian State Rudimentary Tech didn't make the tournament, but you should really get that sand out of your vagina.

Not off to a good start. Last year, I didn't bust on a pick until day 2. Thissa doesn't looka so good. The Marq/UK game makes me nervous, but I don't trust these Wildcats.

Same...but the Purdue/Baylor game scares me. They (PU) are very young and if they get a PAC 10/West Coast touch foul ref crew...watch out.

p the boiler...do you know the crew that's got the game?

I think I have all the 8 seeds except Indiana getting upset. Other than that it's all favorites this round.

Kent State always has good shooting guards.
