Wasted 20 seconds of my life because I stopped reading it.

I want those back.

I just read that article linked from another website (Dooce.com). Soooooo hilarious. However, I live in Baltimore, and we've gotten less than 3 inches of snow this year. So suck it northerners.

/Going back home to Michigan tomorrow, so I'm probably jinxing the hell out of my whole trip.

Thank you. While your 20 minutes is gone forever, you saved me from reading TFA.

cleaning up that riverbank that one afternoon 20 years ago when I was trying to hit on that enviro-chick who never wore a bra.

Right up until "that", I thought the writer was female

Awww, c'mon guys, you don't think "You and I have had our differences before. As one who sweats profusely under certain conditions, such as sitting quietly at room temperature, I wasn't too wild about the summer of 2005. By late June I was technically classified as an estuary" is funny?

I was technically classified as an estuary? That is SO funny. You guys are lame.

chriscon22: This guy needs to to stfu and move to california.

Amen! Even in northern Ca. it just rains or the wind blows.I haven't seen snow in person in 2 years. It is up in the mountains to the east but not on the coast.

/The letter had a few laughs but for the most part was unfunny.

444.1 cm what's that, like 3' US?

/Laughs cause it was 80+ & sunny here today
//Cries because soon it'll be 100+ & humid

2008-03-19 08:46:24 PM
I thought it was amusing.

The sweating comments at the end cracked me up, but I'm married to a man who sweats profusely while sitting quietly at room temperature. Meh.

Dear Mother Nature.

We're gonna rape you some more, until you no longer can live without us, and the only thing you will know as 'love' will be my powerful pimp hand.

Love.

FTA: "In Ottawa, we're closing in on the all-time record snowfall of 444.1 cm - a mark that has stood for almost four decades."

This just might seem daunting if the writer used a real unit of measurement instead of those canadanese units. It's just like their pretty monopoly money.

Lucky bastard, I actually bought the magazine that that failure of an attempt of humour appeared in. The feature was about the most crime-ridden cities in Canada.

/My city, Kelowna, is #7 for sexual assaults
//Sorry about that, Kelowna, they were all asking for it

444.1 cm equals about 14.5 ft. Sounds like a good snow season.

Mother nature's a cold hearted evil biatch who'd incinerate you where you sit if she wasn't so pre-occupied annihilating entire star systems of screaming innocents elsewhere across the universe.

FTFA - The local TV weather guy has the eerily distant look of a soldier with post-traumatic shock or a teenage virgin who's been left alone with Charlie Sheen for seven minutes.

THAT made me laugh. That, and just the idea of Maclean's, a "respectable" magazine we carry and bind at my library, would publish a column that begins with the words, "Dear biatch."

You'll forgive us for preferring a logical, consistent system instead of that ad hoc abortion of arbitrary units and scales you use.

andrewabc: My hat is off to you, sir. That's some badass drift you have there.

I grew up in WI. Moved oh-so-far west to Minnesota. Winter sucks. However, if you live somewhere that's historically snowy, you don't get a single inch of pity from anyone else who's had to carry a snow shovel this winter. Or any other, for that matter.

To the author: You live in Canada. You know, the Great White North. We have -50 degree windchill and blizzards for the first two months of every year. Suck it up, cupcake. Or else move somewhere more balmy... like Indiana.

2008-03-19 11:30:30 PM
Soo, what's all this a-boot?

2008-03-19 11:58:34 PM
In Ottawa, absolutely fed-up with it, so I got a good laugh out of that. A single blizzard, no problem, dig out. Don't have the current numbers but we've had snow something like 90 days out of 120 or so. It's not normal. I'd move south, but not while Bush is in office.

Um, he did say it :)

I love Monty Burns, I just wish the writers would remember that he's EVIL, not just old, but old and EVIL.

I personally loved this thing. I live in Ontario and I've never seen so much god damn snow. It got to the point where you couldn't see the cars in the driveway. I'm ready to kill mother nature myself.

Stupid snow, just melt already!
