Between Depp as Dillinger and Christian Bale as Purvis, I see a great deal of win here.

WOW! I hope this movie is as well acted and well written as that Miami Vice movie!

Jesus H Christ, he looks younger every year.

Which one of the Dillinger Brothers is he playing? The one that dies, or the one that becomes the Dealy Lama?

BellaMafia: Ehhh....anyone else from WI sick of hearing about this movie?

I'm from NW Indiana (Dillinger made a famous escape from a jail here, and they're shooting and looking for extras here) and I'm beyond sick of hearing about it.

I'm giddy...I hope Mann does for 1930s Great Plains what he did for 1960s Chicago and Las Vegas in "Crime Story."
And let me also add that the book was amazing.

Add to the fact that they're doing some shooting in my incredibly small hometown in WI, and I can't wait to see it.

There are more posters in the average bacon thread than my hometown.

I'll pass, thanks. Right there is a perfect example of why I don't watch movies anymore. Everybody is just too damn pretty. Yeah, Dillinger was foppish. Give me a break.

Johnny Depp is the ultimate in the hawtness.....and yes he does look younger and younger every year. My favorite movie is The Secret Window.....excellent

I actually sat thru that entire pile of shiate known as Sweeny Todd, so I'm getting a kick.

Who would have thought back in the '90s that Depp would become such a parody of himself, while someone as whispy as Leonardo di Caprio would become a strong leading man?

I hope the music isn't too loud in this one.

John Dillinger died for your sins.

I like Johnny Depp in pretty much everything he's done in the last decade (minus the last two Pirate movies) but Michael Mann blows. Except the Crime Story pilot.
Manhunter was a travesty. It is proof he can take a phenomenal story with interesting characters and make it about which character has the biggest dick. I'm pretty sure every one of his movies I've seen is about who has the biggest dick, in fact.

/going back to mild mannered lurker mode

Somebody needs to grab Marky mark's "prop" from Boogie Nights.... Dillinger was packin' heat!

They are filming the death scene right by my house in Aurora, IL. They are turning the Parmount Theater into the Biograph. Not sure why they wouldn't just use the Biograph since it's still standing.

The bar in Chicago I spend most of my weekend (and week) nights at is literally about 100 steps from where Mr. Dillinger was shot down by the FBI.

He was the hotness back in 21JS days.. never watched the show but looked up for the commercials 'cause he was cute. I think i was 13 when Scissorhands came out, confirming his hotness.

Now, my daughter is 13. Her crush was on Jack Sparrow and by extension all things Depp.

What I mean to say is, I'm a little tickled but a little creeped out that my daughter and i dig/dug the same actor.

solitary: Leonardo di Caprio would become a strong leading man?

Leonardo DiCaprio packs fudge. He's a fudgepacker.

Depp was good in 9th Gate.

I forgot all about the gossip regarding Dillinger's tripod-like appearance. Maybe Mann will finally get over his obsession after doing this film.

/almost resisted a joke about Dillinger bashing someone's head in with HIS Louisville Slugger (ala Capone)
