You want us to DOS Digg? Ok, if you say so....

/how much bigger is Digg than Fark?

I'm pretty sure their servers can handle it.

Pretty much this. God I hate that site.

To submit a headline to Digg, it has to either:

- Be about Ron Paul
- Take one element of a story and play it up, often incorrectly
- Contain at least three exclamation point.
- Be a top-10 list
- Use brackets in the headline to denote a picture or video, because the users are too stupid to click through and see it themselves.

Bonus points for combining all the above. For instance:

Ron Paul wins Republican nomination!!!!![PIC]

About a phone poll conducted by Ron Paul supporters projecting him the winner, with a mug shot in the story, would automatically make it to the top and the comments inside would be nothing but Diggers fellating themselves over how great Ron Paul is.

Ron Paul is no longer a prime social mover on digg. Just so you know.

I go to Fark for the headlines, and digg for the satisfaction of digging people down. Imagine if you could tangibly smite bevets every time he shows up ... it's very therapeutic.

I watch their weekly show Diggnation and always get a chuckle or two. FarkTV, uh not so much. As far as the site goes, I sometimes go there just for the stories. The comments are written by 12-year-olds or people who take themselves way too seriously.

lol. actually, i used to think it would be fun to be a mod here. then i paid attention to the complete and utter bs they have to deal with on a constant basis from assholes like me

i don't envy them for their anonymous, and more often - unappreciated - duties. but i respect their position, and don't have a problem with saying they aren't responsible for something they aren't responsible for

You should see the crap I drop on them and wander off for them to clean up. Drew should be paying them six figures.

42 digs and 4 comments. I would say this fails. And why hasn't the greenlit tab been refreshing all day? Get to work on that straight away. Forget it, I just saw it was scheduled to go to main at an ideal time. I kept seeing this at the top and thought it wasn't updating. At least I have an excuse because of a certain holiday.

Ron Paul? Whenever I go on there, it's all pro-Obama and anti-Hillary.

How many times have we done this weird recursive-loop thing? The last time was 11 days ago? You'd think Digg would wise up. Unless they don't care.

I know I don't. I find it all humorous, personally.

xanadian: I know I don't. I find it all humorous, personally.

I'm sure everyone involved does, except maybe the Digg users - but they're a 1/2 step above YouTubers anyway.

I stopped going there because it became the way Democracy is today. The front page stuff is only there because friends of the "digger" upped him in one large circle jerk so that when they dug their own their friend would return the favor, instead of the preferred "on the front page because it is interesting."

HulkHands: The front page stuff is only there because friends of the "digger" upped him in one large circle jerk so that when they dug their own their friend would return the favor, instead of the preferred "on the front page because it is interesting."

Google Groups (and other off page places where people get together) have ruined the way Digg works.

I think the fark model where the Admins pick what goes green is (overall) better. I like the idea of digg, but it is too easily manipulated by the users.

i used to digg, when the site was new, for about 3 months.

as soon as i noticed that most stories were dupes, and that i was getting my info faster from my rss feeds, i quit.

Wait! I thought that was supposed to create a divide by zero error in the very fundament of the universe last time it happened.

Kind of like the old "/ping 255.255.255.255", it was apparently done once in the nineties, and led to the greatest DDoS the world had yet seen at the time.
