Its a reflex action I have from my time in uniform. Typically I find myself automatically doing a hand salute and the realizing half way whats going on and then placing my hand over my head. Typically only ex-military, their family and politicians do it regularly.

Didn't Francis Scott Key WANT us to cover our balls during the Star Spangled Banner? It's a tribute to those whose fort ( => fortitude => balls) is under attack, as Fort McHenry was while Key wrote the damn thing!

I'm not sure what you're trying to say by posting this. It's a pretty neat quote.

Also, chill with the rehashed macros and bad photoshops, or I'm going to award you the Afternoon_Hellbent_forMighty_Hillary4Real Award for Internets Failure.

The Stallion: I simply don't see how we can have Senator Obama as our nominee when he has shown such questionable judgment and given the Republicans such ammunition. If this goes on much longer, it will continue to damage not only Senator Obama but any democrat running in the fall. The nation's response to this should be watched very, very carefully by the Democratic leadership.

So are you a Clinton or GOP plant? Seriously, the "questionable judgment" talking point has been beaten like a dead horse already. Not that it has any merit to begin with. As far as I can tell, Obama's most glaring instance of "questionable judgment" was joining a black church run by a flamboyant pastor. Shocking isn't it!

This type of change? Che presided over the Cuban Revolution's first firing squads. He founded Cuba's "labor camp" system-the system that was eventually employed to incarcerate gays, dissidents, and AIDS victims.

Relatively Obscure: The only good president is one who is universally reviled. That's how we know we've made the right choice in the past.

Yes. It is foolish to vote for someone who seeks to unify...we need more fear, division and for God's sake, our reputation on the world stage has not yet reached zero, so we mustn't change horses mid-apocalypse...stay the course!

McCain called class-A bigot and douche Jerry Falwell a "great American."

Oh please, Falwell just hated GAYS. So does your dumbass brother, who cares? Obama's pastor hates AMERICA. Which means OBAMA HATES AMERICA. Which is exactly why he's running for Commander in Chief - so he can take control of the military and SURRENDER all over the world to everyone! That's what ALL LIBERALS want him to do, after all. They want us to surrender to the Muslims so they can live under Sharia law and enjoy their moral relavist godless hippie free-love lifestyles without fear of reprisal! See how logical that is!

yes! Yes! YES!

When we take the whitehouse Barack's first phone call will be to Osama Bin Laden (his brother, you probably didn't know that because our press has been holding this back) and we plan on rounding up all Americans (except the gay ones, they are Barack's brothers also) and stick them in camps.

Then we are going to have sex.
lots of sex
with your mothers, daughters, fathers, and uncles. Oh, the uncle sex is so hot.

Open WIDE -- Barack is coming and we are going to re-paint 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue BLACK.

You're either a troll, or are somehow deluded into believing that any of the available candidates are any better. If you're a troll, good job, you've managed to irritate me and I don't even especially care about Obama. I don't think it's going to matter much one way or another, this country hasn't been a representative democracy for a long time.

The short of it is, anyone that gets angry or upset about someone expressing dissatisfaction with the state of the country or not showing proper 'patriotism', is wholly and egregiously ignorant of both history and current events. Love of country should be in no way unconditional.

Anyone that reacts like, 'OMG he's not patriotic!!! OMG his wife isn't proud of the US!? OMG his preacher said something negative about the country?!' is a simple-minded sycophant.

Cue the, 'if you don't like it why don't you move to canada!?' comments.

...Since the name of Chicago defendant Antoin 'Tony' Rezko has come up in national debate, it seems fair to look at donations from other defendants in Chicago's "Operation Board Games."

Of the other five defendants, three have donated to the Clintons or to Clinton supporters, three have donated mostly to Republicans, and at least two have donated to Obama's political opponents. None have donated to Obama.

Yes but did anyone else get a free house?

Bloody William: Plus the "Texas campaign HQ" was a volunteer office not actually related to the Obama campaign at all.

Big deal. If there is found a volunteer McCain office with a KKK robe hanging on a hook you can believe it will be used to tie to McCain. It's how campaigns are run - tying the people who vote for a candidate to the candidate itself. Tough titties if you don't like it.

The whole hand on the heart thing is stupid. Hope it goes away.

Not that Hillary is exciting.

2008-03-17 01:14:23 PM
cartersdad: RadioAaron: I'm still trying to figure out what part of that reverend's rant was inappropriate...

Really?

If Mccain or Hillary attended a church run by a Communist Klan leader, The media I am sure would make a big deal about it.

Being a former minister, I would have a huge problem with his sermons. Preachers are to spread the word of God. Not promote a candidate or perpetuate racial divides, class divides. It's about joining as one under God's love and compassion.

Still think Obama's minister is an ass. Obama's still not getting my vote...not because of the minister, but because he has no experience.

You're right, any candidate with a priest in the KKK would have big problems. But you know what? Obama's pastor isn't in the KKK you douche bag.

And are you actually so obtuse that your mind simply can't apprehend the difference between "promoting racial divides and class divisions" and merely acknowledging and confronting the reality of their existence? If not, then you must think Bush has been "promoting" HIV and AIDS on his recent trip to Africa because he admitted severity of the problem.

Moreover, can you think of any ways in which it might be problematic for blacks to "join as one under God's love and compassion" in a racist society? For a hundred years our country practiced legally sanctioned racism and segregation, yet you don't think that such a society would also reflect those same values in its churches? Fail.

Christ, is there a reason why this has not been picked up by the media? It may not help Obama exactly, but it would certainly make Hillary shut the fark up about Rezko already. I remember Hillary chiding Obama about Rezko in one of the debates and almost immediately that picture of Hillary with Rezko was posted on Fark.

Sadly, you're right. That probably would be the case. I admit it, and it's unfortunate. However, it's unfair either way.
