Does he call him "Bernky" ?

2008-03-14 03:25:37 PM
He also says "Doing something foolish would be worse than doing nothing, he said."

Too little....too late.

nobozo I think he refers to him as "Benji-Poot"

That Greenspan was too disloyal. He criticized Bush too much. This new guy keeps his mouth shut and that makes him a good guy.

2008-03-14 05:31:29 PM
Well, that's not good. I wonder what Katrina sized disaster is about to blow up in the American people's faces.

2008-03-14 05:45:51 PM
Does this mean Bush looked into his brown eye and saw his soul?

2008-03-14 05:45:53 PM
Bush must be a better golfer than Tiger Woods. He always goes for the lowest score on everything.

2008-03-14 05:46:34 PM
No good can come of it if the president were to say, under any circumstances, "this economy is in grave danger."

You will simply never hear it from an administration with half a brain.

Nothing to see here, move along.

2008-03-14 05:46:43 PM
Isn't that like a disastrous kiss of death these days? How long until either something goes to hell in a handbasket or a scandal blows up?

Who's a turd blossom?
Yes you are!

Yes he's doing his job, BRINGING THE US DOLLAR TO METLDOWN to create a dictatorship...

Because when there's an external threat real or NOT, a police state and an economic crash, we all know what happens next. More power to the government and crackdown on political dissidents aka the WE HATE BUSH crowd or next the WE HATE HILLARY crowd.

Speaking just hours after the Federal Reserve helped to engineer a rescue loan for investment bank Bear Stearns...

...And he said programs to help squeezed homeowners refinance their homes are beginning to work without bailing out anyone or distorting markets

So, bail out the banks but not the homeowners, got it.

Anyone who thinks that the economy is coming back when the Democrats are going to let the tax cuts expire and raise other taxes on top of that really IS a fool.

Well, lets be "realistic" about it.. Half is a bit generous, don't you think?

dramaticpause: Does this mean Bush looked into his brown eye and saw his soul?

Bush has his head so far up his ass, he has to look outward to see his browneye.

Kludge: So, bail out the banks but not the homeowners, got it.

Exactly. What do the homeowners do for the economy other than enter into loans they don't understand and gripe when they can't afford them?

The banks keep the economy running.

Is Bernackie from Guymon, Oklahoma too?

Brownie was.

Guymon, Oklahoma. It's where you'd put the tube if the world needed an enema

I remember hearing the EXACT same thing in 1992.

Perhaps, but the direction we're going now doesn't seem to be the right one. If you're headed off the rails you change course.

What about those who think we're in for a 4-year-long recession? Not exactly an Economics major there, are ya?

jjorsett: Anyone who thinks that the economy is coming back when the Democrats are going to let the tax cuts expire and raise other taxes on top of that really IS a fool.

Actually, the truth of the matter is that the Democrats have been in charge of the Congress during most of the economic down turn and have done nothing about it at all.

I don't believe in bailing out anyone, not the homeowners and especially not the banks.

The Onion said it best:

"Giving money to institutions that failed at their only job, which was to have money, may not be the best strategy."

He also said that outsourcing our jobs is okay because we have a good community college program to train those laid off into the medical profession, that buying Chinese products is a good thing and 9/11!!!!OMGWTF!

Nice headline, subby. Three ways it's funny.

The only thing that will fix this economy is higher taxes and punishing evil business owners.

311 day, 18 hours, and five minutes. This is when our long national nightmare will be over. At this point, I assume Bush can't do much more harm to our economy/nation, so he might as well take an extended vacation in Crawford, TX, and just call it a day.

Bernanke's pulling out all the stops, and showing how limited the Fed's power is in reality. It reminds me of the Wizard of Oz in a way as the "wizard" pulls levels and switches furiously to no avail.

George Bush won't be able to see the economy turn around. He's leaving office in less than a year or won't he?

Seriously I don't see any of the candidates talking about the economy. Yet one of them has admitted he doesn't know much about the economy and the other two is talking about hope, change, and the plight of the poor people. Looks like I got to be a lying, greedy, nastard in order to succeed and not get caught by authorities.

Yeah, like Congress themselves have EVER gotten anything done.

Bush has a way of exceeding expectations in that category...but no other.

Sad.

Well, of COURSE it'll bounce back. It ALWAYS bounces back. If we could bounce back from the S&L collapse and the Great Depression, we can bounce back from credit dumps and rampant foreclosure. We just need competent leadership, and no matter WHAT happens in November, we're going to do better.

Hell, there's no way we could do worse.

California is going to lead the way into hell. The state legislature is talking about raising taxes on everything. Eliminate the home mortgage deduction, put the top income tax rate at 11% from the current 9.3% increase the sales taxes, car taxes, gas taxes, taxes on corporations, taxes on oil extraction, yada yada yada. If it moves they're going to try to tax it. If it stands still, ditto. Combine this with the upcoming Democratic mishandling of the economy at the national level and we'll probably have breadlines here.

He's already trapped inside a rather tiny, cramped brain. Give him a break.

Nah, on second thought, fark it. Put him in the hole.
