Cuban officials said he was welcome in Cuba, as long as he could get himself off the beach.

FTA:Enrique Reyes came to the United States in 2002, but his visa has since expired.

Well , drop him off at the border & wait for Cuba to pick him up...

/Doesn't want another free loader in this country
//Does want more slashies

+1 on the moronic sentiment..

FTA: "He takes everything in stride."

Somehow, I doubt that...

Don't listen to them, subby. I see what you did there, and I LOL'ed.

Use him as a buoy to warn others.

2008-03-12 08:57:49 AM
Change his name to Bob, and let him swim back to Cuba.

2008-03-12 08:59:20 AM
FTFA: Although he's serving five years' probation for killing his best friend in a car crash, a paraplegic Cuban refugee remains in a Broward County jail with nowhere to go.

According to the Sun Sentinal, they are the same. Who knew?

/If he takes to the ocean, his name is Bob
//oh yeah, I did

Why do we care if Cuba will accept him? Send him to Gitmo and then release him with money for a cab and a phone call. Can we really hurt our relations with Cuba that much more?

We can start a museum for unwanted Cuban refugees. Hang this guy on the wall, and rename him Art.

2008-03-12 09:08:58 AM
I'm still trying to work out why we haven't crushed Cuba and just made it part of Florida. Just call it (Way) South Florida.

Eff Castro, both of 'em... the commie bastards.

Or play him on in the door way, and call him Matt

I'll take him. I've already got a paraplegic named Curt; I'll just name this one Rod, and use them to hold up the drapes.

2008-03-12 09:25:43 AM
Throw him in a hole and call him Phil.

2008-03-12 09:28:51 AM
I could use him to hold up the front of my boat trailer when not using it and call him Jack.

/Got nothin'

Just leave him in a leaf pile and call him Russel...

But seriously, thousands of Cubans escape Cuba, how hard would it be to sneak him back in...

Pretend he's a puppy and toss him off a cliff. It's the american way.

FTFA: But immigration experts say it's extremely rare for the Cuban government to accept deportees. Officials there would have to make an exception for Reyes, they say, and if they did, they might not act quickly.

"If they feel it's not in their interest to take this person, they won't, period," said Leopoldo Ochoa, a Coral Gables immigration lawyer who is not associated with the case.

Imagine that. NOT accepting criminals from other countries. Crazy commie bastards.

Think of all the great free healthcare the guy would get in Cuba!

Turn about is fair play. Load him and all the other cubans in our prisons in a boat and ship them back to Mariel. Throw in some American career criminals and call it the Krome boatlift.

You know, if the article writer is going to sneak in little jokes like that, why not go all the way?

"Defense attorneys say the prosecution's case has no legs, and that they are dragging their feet in a legal system already crippled by the slow-turning wheels of justice. Oh, did I mention this guy can't walk?"

He's Cuban...how about send him BACK TO CUBA?

2008-03-12 01:27:10 PM
for all of you calling him a criminal:
the guy fell asleep at the wheel. it was an accident, it wasn't intentional. he's serving a sentence for vehicular homicide because no one gives a crap down here if an immigrant actually did anything wrong. they're wrong anyway.
not that i agree with the "oh woe is me, help a cuban out" bit recent immigrants (as in the last 10 years) like to pull either.
yeah, send him to cuba where his family can take care of his unfortunate ass.

/wouldn't mind helping someone out, as long as they needed it and didn't act entitled
//my tax money does not qualify

/I'm just sayin'

2008-03-12 03:20:18 PM
What would we have done if the guy wasn't a Cuban? He's here legally, because of that "if you make onto US soil you can stay" rule. So again, what would we do if he was an American? Isn't this why we're a welfare state? To help the helpless? I mean, the guy's a quadriplegic, it's not like he "suffers" from "migraines" and "can't" work.

I am an amputtee and am really getting a kick out of these replies...
