Worst TV...Firefly...I'm not sure you really know what that word means.

2008-03-10 06:11:10 PM
Ooooo...impressive, subby. The headline is a blatantly obvious troll, and yet you're sure to get at least a few hits, if not an outright flame war out of this.

Good show.

Worst series ever on Fox? I'm not even sure if this comes in the top 10. Fox has put out a whole lot of crap.

I got a good laugh out of this headline, as I still am not sure what people find so great about the series. It was alright, just way too much cheesy stuff going on. I thought the movie was rather good, though.

impossible, what could be worse than firefly? a country western soap opera in space with lasers and fans gayer than the star wars kid himself? you lie. nothing can top firefly.

I thought for a second it was going to be Titus.

They should bring back Banzai!!!! Lady one question was my favorite, until I just found this out about Mr. Shake Hands Man :

"He also shook hands with Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen."

One F Jef: impossible, what could be worse than firefly? a country western soap opera in space with lasers and fans gayer than the star wars kid himself? you lie. nothing can top firefly.

You forgot that "country western" was spliced with "China." That's what made the show so effortless to promote.

I liked the Pitts. The problem was that it was the show's style was in a no man's land between what fits on network TV and what fits on Nick/Disney. Too many off color jokes for kids TV and a lot of cartoonish things and a lot of focus on the kids. The animated show needs to be more adult oriented like the other FOX cartoons to be successful.

The sad thing is I think the live family comedy on network TV is pretty much dead.

Additionally, Andy Milonakis has been cast as Petey, the son.

FAIL.

This show needs to die a quick death, and let us never speak of it again.

I was wondering if submitter was referring to the Herman's Head era. I watched that show and some others of the late early Fox era (after they had been doing original programming for a few years, before they were taken seriously).

Lawless (starring Brian Bosworth)?

Yeah, what does exploring the edges of known space have to do with the westward expansion into the wilderness of America? These two have NOTHING in common... especially seeing as the series takes place after a war between the Union and Confederates, I mean, Alliance and Independents.

Anyone who can claim that shows like Andromeda, Stargate: Atlantis, Earth: Final Conflict, or any other crap show which was given a chance longer than one season is better with a straight face gets to make the next "There are WMD's in 'fillintheblankistan'" speech to the UN. Not to mention that the show was incredibly inexpensive to produce.

/submission to troll over.

I'm guessing that FOX will slug this show into the 8:30pm Sunday "betwixt Simpsons & Family Guy" slot. There's some FOX guru who must believe in the theory that you can put ANY piece of garbage on between these two succesful and edgy shows and it will be watched.

How many truly atrocious shows have they tried this with? How much must it suck to watch the ratings during weeks where they have a "hilarious new show" which are much much lower than the weeks where they ran an old Simpsons rerun in that slot?

Don't forget that Mike Scully created it and Seth McFarlane was a consulting producer.

ROAR?

2008-03-10 08:16:46 PM
Actually I was kind of hoping that it would be "The Winner". Yeah I know the show was all kinds of awful, but the way I see it is that it took a little while for Family guy to find its audience, it took even longer for American Dad to find its audience (and that was without getting canceled first)... the writers for the show were obviously decent, and Rob Corrdry is pretty funny (His spots on the Daily Show are all pretty good, the bit part of "Jim the Protester" on Chuck and Larry, and his spot on Blades of Glory). If given the time to find their direction the show may have done alright... and if live action wasn't cutting it, then bring the show in the direction where the writers have struck gold twice... animation.
