Coolness, I want one.

"While walking your dog"???

If I think there is enough of a chance I need a machine gun while walking my dog to put that thing in my back pocket, the little bastard is just going to have to learn to use the toilet.

looks like a deadly book.

interesting.

Ahh, the business of paranoia...so profitable.

WTF. The Glock it's made from is much smaller. Even with a tac light on it, it's smaller.

Walk your dog with a hip holster (even an empty one). You will never get mugged, or even insulted.

Or, get a real dog:

I have a chihuahua with a 3rd degree black belt.

He can also hurl insults in 6 languages.

Fear me and my attack chihuahua.

Ninja pup?

I could see some legit uses for that.
Private security, Secret Service, Airport Security, etc.
Settings where you don't actually want barrels brandished but you need people who can get into the action quickly.

Interesting.

Prototypes are neat, and many must be developed before an easily produce-able product can be brought to market.

I applaud their innovation and motivation.

Please send one to me for testing and approval.

Deer hunting, i need it for deer hunting.....

A semi-auto version of that will cost you a LEO signature, a $5 tax stamp (AOW because of the fold-up feature) and $200 for the short-barrelled rifle tax stamp.

If it's full auto, the advantage comes from the folding stock and front handgrip. If it's just SA, then just buy any Glock pistol.

Giblet, you are technically correct, you can get a FA glock in a smaller package, just the pistol handgrip really, but try shooting it accurately. If you watch the videos on Youtube, the recoil makes that impossible. It's really only good for, well, for making cool videos on Youtube!

So really what this gives you is the worlds smallest short-barreled rifle. I would love to see a video of it in action. Makes me wonder if it actually shoots.

The question I have is where the casings go, the ejector appears to be completely covered by the new skin. That and heat dissipation, how do they keep the Glock inside from melting if you put a lot of rounds through it?

Smellvin

So now you're saying everyone is just a little worried about the ass virginity of young boys in malls across America now?

Hence, why need to ban automatic weapons and most types of firearms NOW.

It's a farking toy, that none of us need.

True, similar to the concept behind the mini-uzi, the main advantage is that this one has a folding handle as well. Although, I wonder, whats the length in comparison to say, a p90.

WTF? Seriously, you might use it "... get the mail .. any problems occur"?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I present to you Fear 101.

It is callled the FMG-9 - stands for Fark Me Good?

A Glock 23 is accurate enough for sidearm purposes. The wife has one (she's pretty good with it, too). My sidearm is a 1911. Either one is enough to put most of a clip into a hyperactive midget at 30 feet. ie, good enough.

If you want accuracy, use a rifle like the cheap-o Remington 700 and you'll be able to hit that midget at 1000 yards.

The only people who want full auto are newbs or can't-aim military folks who get their ammo for free. Semi-auto is ideal, but the pros use bolt action.

There is no sensible purpose for this mod, and the probability of an eventual mechanical failure which results in the owner's injury or death is unacceptably high.

The only use of a legally-owned machine gun in the commission of a crime was by a police officer.

Check the manufacturer's website. They look like a bunch of Unabombers holed up near Boulder making indestructible magazines for the military. Kinda cool really.

I came for the mall ninja references and was not disapointed.

I never saw a gun upclose that wasn't held to my head, so I may know nothing at all about those things, but this looked very cool to me. I specially liked the sound it made when it opened. Color me impressed.

No. I'm saying that everyone now equips TOW missiles on their golf carts to stop terrorists from raiding the S'barro.

Must say that at least Stoner's explanation for why you might need it made more sense.

I need one of those in case King George III jumps out at me whilst I'm walking my dog or whatever.

Full auto would be a bad idea. I'm thinking a three round burst would be ideal.

This. It's way too toylike and I can easily see someone shooting themselves trying to open it. Especially if you have to act quickly.

It's just a toy for overgrown man-children.

proteon: I think if that guy had a golf ball in his hands I wouldn't fark with him.

why? does the douche beard and balding look scare you or something?

with new kimber .45's that hold 15 rounds and are small enough for your hand i don't see the point of this. even if that was produced i see no way it is accurate. and then someone will say "but full auto"..bullshiat, people in fire fights unless trained never hit shiat. breathe , think, aim and shoot. firing blindly will just get you shot.

besides, half the point of a firearm in terms of personal defence is intimidation factor. the idea is to descalate the situation by presenting a superior threat. as for military and police factor, there is no reason to hide your gun unless it is a backup one. the only thing this could be good for was if someone wanted to pass a police visual sweep of having a weapon in their car. but any search beyond just an eye glance would reveal that and then you are farked.

2008-03-10 01:50:53 PM
I'd love to see them make this, for one reason:

I want to see how long it takes TSA to figure out that a rectangular thingy with bits inside that look like gun bits is a gun.

This gun looks awesome. I want one just to play around with.

/No one needs sports cars. Why not ban those too? I'm sure they've caused more deaths than automatic weapons in the US.

Sports cars made of razor blades whose wheels are extremely likely to fall off the first time you drive it should be avoided as well. I don't hear anyone saying these toys should be banned -- only that they are total fail.

This thing is just stupid and dangerous. The "cool" factor is far too small to compensate for the stupid and dangerous factors.

Want a small full-auto that is not stupid and dangerous? Get an MP-5 or convert your own Ruger to full auto. Do it legally, of course.

Not sure about the Unabomber thing, but the indestructible magazines remark is dead on. I have two of their magazines for my AR-15, and they're as solid and reliable as I could hope for.

Giblet: There is no sensible purpose for this mod, and the probability of an eventual mechanical failure which results in the owner's injury or death is unacceptably high.

I'm not so sure about that, considering that it's from Magpul. These are the guys behind the Masada modular rifle platform which you can see here on a clip from Futureweapons. (which is pretty close to XXX german fetish gun porn most of the time) Considering the company, if they ever made something like the FMG-9, it would probably be marketed to overseas security contractors (Wackenhut, Blackwater, etc) and rarely if ever here in America. Those guys can use a good low-profile SMG on occasions. And, if Magpul's behind it you know they're going to design it well for actual sales - the model in the video was just a proof of concept.

He was personally handling a firearm that he himself knows with great certainty is unloaded, and did not leave his hands or sight during the demonstrations. What is the problem?

I just have a thing about people pointing guns - loaded or unloaded - at themselves or others. You should be able to handle your firearm without pointing it in the direction of a body.

if you are at a large gun show then it is rare that you can point the weapon anywhere without being close to someone. It is best that he is pointing at himself then others.
Still does not excuse some scoping in on someone from across the building. It always creeps me out seeing someone standing tall and level holding a scope rifle.
