Wealthy US skeptic James Randi
HA! Randi is not wealthy, the money is from his foundation.

I KNEW they would do that.

i predict nobody will win the $2mil
2001-08-07 09:48:47 AM
I'll give anyone a trillion $'s if they can prove the existence of god.

I predict they will fail, also I predict that Ms. Cleo will predict they will fail.

Why is this Fark worthy? Lots of people get tested by Randi.

Ms. Cleo has a class action lawsuit on her ass from the good folks from the Show Me State. A couple other states have lined up as well but I believe Mo is the first.

Finally we will see if these crackpots really are from an alien race.

I'd pay a dollar to prove they're all BS.

"I do it all with a piece of string and a weight on the bottom," - runner up quote of the day

I can't wait to see the legalese mess these things usually turn out to be. Its a nice propaganda device, but I'm very cautions around those who mix law (contest contracts) and science. Its practically a three ring circus. I hope everyone enjoys the show.

RPM: Actually, Randi tests very few "psychics". Almost invariably they find a flimsy excuse to weasel out of the test.

hmmmm that is interesting...i have some psychic powers, but not like big out-there psychic powers. ive never found like, gold and diamonds and shtuff. but then again, ive never tried!
2001-08-07 03:12:17 PM
its only news if they take home the mil.

Hmm, I would post a link to all those studies (one recent one, which says that people can move objects with their minds), but I can't find a link anywhere! I was thinking it would be from the Stanford Research Institute, but I don't see a link there (and they do a lot of psychic research). I'll keep looking, but if google doesn't have it, it doesn't exist :P

.......I look constipated.

Ok i think if that one guy does it, the string and weight should get the million. He just holds it like a twit muahahaha.
2001-08-07 08:06:39 PM
"I do it all with a piece of string and a weight on the bottom," he said.

This reminds me of:
"You forgot one thing, chief."
"What's that?"
"I filled the balls with a funnel."

Title should read, "two psychics will fail miserably at proving their non-existant powers"
2001-08-08 01:23:49 AM
They won't get the money, even if they ARE psychic, because Randi will never admit he's wrong. But they've got balls for trying.
