cardigans are nice. The half-tucked shiat, mismatched belt, and gross jeans make him look like a douchebag.

As soon as I read the headline, I thought of the band and their cover of "Iron Man."

Accordingly, I was profoundly confused.

I was going to as well, but then again I remembered I'm not a DICK.

I did however, just now order a cardigan online, after having read the story. So I guess I'm getting a real kick out of these replies.

Did you know the cardigan was named after James Thomas Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British military commander, following his service in the Crimean War?

I always suspected it, but never knew for sure until today

Cardigans have been cool for the past year or so. I lovingly embrace the trend, as it makes men look both stylish and studious... very sexy.

quick funny story:

I had one great uncle who never married.
every Christmas his 4 sisters and sister in law would take turns buying him a sweater.
When he passed away, I had to clean out the house.
He had almost every single sweater still in the gift box with the tags on them, stuck in the top of his closet.
He was a funny man, that was his last punch line for me.

Also, Beckham is an uneducated unintelligent dolt who will probably wear anything the shopgirls in LA tell him to wear. If he would have only listened to his coaches so well.

/just don't.

Sweater vests are NOT cardigans. Cardigans have buttons. And I would want to screw some guy in a cardigan about as badly as I would want to screw Mr. Cleaver or Mr. Rodgers. It just makes a guy seem so domesticated.

Cardigans??? What kinda nerd would wear that outdated 1920s bullshiat. I'll take a t-shirt over that whackness anyday. If you wanna look like an easy target, go ahead and follow this loser trend, but if you ain't trying to get punked on a daily basis, for the love of god don't wear that shiat.

TFA quotes a spokesman from Adsa talking about their "George" menswear line. Asda is a Wal-Mart subsidiary, and "George" is a Wal-Mart brand.

This makes me seriously question the fashion sense of the British when they're actually buying store-brand sweaters at Wal-Mart and thinking it fashionable.

I love cardigans. I also love argyle, especially on cardigans. Brown is my colour of choice. I like dressing like a 80 year old man in a Florida retirement community. My girlfriend hates it.

Get a real waistcoat and move on, people. Just because you don't like suit jackets doesn't mean you have to morph whatever is left over into a sweater monstrosity.

This makes me seriously question the fashion sense of the British when they're actually buying store-brand sweaters at Wal-Mart and thinking it fashionable.

When they brought out George here, clothes at supermarkets was a new thing, and they felt they had to make it look at least somewhat upmarket to get people to buy it. This was not quite a complete failure and stuff from George is seen as 'better than Primark' - Primark being rock bottom.

Cardigans are neat.

I never cared for Cardigans back in my sweater wearing days. I have to admit, though, they don't get stretched out of shape like a pullover.

I really dislike this trend. I wish there were some sort of mildly amusing meme incorporating a bear that I could use. Alas, I am stumped.
