FTFA:Then came the kicker: "I would buy a Mac today if I was not working at Microsoft."

And with that, Apple's marketing dept just collectively pissed themselves out of joy.

Damn. All I ever get from Bill Gates is those emails telling me he wants to share his fortune and I need to do is forward the email as much as I can so Microsoft can conduct their email beta test. Maybe if I would forward them I would be rich by now.

my cousin works for an MS owned company. when Gates came to visit they were told to do two things, hide the booze and boot up windows (they all use Linux)

Vista and office '07. they are OK. They won't rape your dog. But why? More bloat, more incompatibility, more DRM, more expense - and for what?
Migrating from '95 to '98 was a hassle - but I got a better O/S out of it. Migrating from '98 to XP was a little bit of a hassle - but I got a better O/S. But Office has not improved substantially since '97 - the "features" added should have been free upgrades. And I hear almost nobody saying that Vista offers any real improvement to justify the hassles.
This is why ME sucked so much - it offered nothing new except some eye candy and a further burying of the DOS code that just left it even more unstable. There was no value added.
Microsoft needs to find a new business model, I think. At some point, people are going to quit buying increasingly overwrought and insane iterations of the same farking thing.

VMWare Fusion - no need to boot out of OS X at all. Install a virtual machine from a disk image or an existing Bootcamp partition! "Unity" interface, drag-and-drop files... it's brilliant.
