Do you know who else got all drugged up and sent his troops to the border?

2008-03-02 03:45:52 PM
HJ - about 1000.

After Saturday's operation 1.8km (one mile) into Ecuadorean territory, Colombia's defence minister described the death of Reyes as the "biggest blow so far" to Farc.

I think we all know that FarcTV has been the "biggest blow so far" on Farc.

2008-03-02 03:45:58 PM
How can anybody say Chavez is a bad guy? He's decrying the killing of a leader of Fark, for god's sake! I hope it wasn't El Jeffe...

2008-03-02 03:46:08 PM
Bush must be delighted - this is the excuse he needs to invade another oil-rich country.

That'll put the tension in attention whore.

2008-03-02 03:47:58 PM
I wonder what type of hardware Venezuela has? Are they using old Soviet tanks and migs from the Cold War or did they opt for those fancy French machines?

2008-03-02 03:48:02 PM
nevermind. I'll just go kill myself.

2008-03-02 03:48:02 PM

Just don't pay the 5 bucks and you're free.

3ntropy: farkin farc. they have hundreds of hostages that have been held for years.

They've also used cocaine to fund their revolution. And Chavez thinks they're pretty spiffy.

I wonder what the pro-chavez crowd here thinks about all of this?

Oh South America, if the CIA isnt messing with you, your messing with yourself... You'll go blind that way... or get hairy palms.

You know who else uses profit from cocaine to fund their military actions?

What? Invade another sovereign country based on trumped-up charges? Call names at their of state? Knowingly escalate regional tensions? Where does he get these crazy ideas?

Shaggy_C: $6 a gallon gas, folks. Get used to it.

In my part of the world, $6 a gallon was a quite a few years back.

/we're used to it

Venezuela is suprisingly well-equipped. They are rocking modern versions of Sukhois and MIGs. Whether they are well trained is a different question . . . Either way, Columbia is FARC'd.

2008-03-02 03:53:24 PM
Well actually, we've done such a bang-up job helping bring stability to the region.

2008-03-02 03:53:28 PM
Chavez is a troll.

He just needs Peru, Brazil and Argentina to get those extra two reinforcements every turn.

Normal people don't be acting that way! (new window)

gutter_ca/fl: -1 for no Farc reference, El Submitto

Submitter here, cocaine funds Farc so I guess indirectly there was a reference. Cocaine also seems to fund Chavez as well, not to mention the guy has to be high on something...

2008-03-02 03:55:45 PM
I'm assuming that there's some non-heavily jungled area on the border between the two countries (near the coast probably)? Otherwise, Chavez is as stupid as he is crazy.

2008-03-02 03:55:59 PM
It's not news, it's RunFARC.com (pops).

"Annnnnnd... they're off!"

"Nah man, Chavez is just like.. a revolutionary man, like he's no threat to stability just cause he's a megalomaniacle nut job.. he just like, loves the poor man.."

This is what happens when narcissists are publicly humiliated. They plot revenge.

2008-03-02 03:59:29 PM
Oh GREAT. That's ALL we need right now.

It's becoming more obvious with time that Hugo Chavez is more of a nutjob than a reformer. He hasn't even fully consolidated his "Bolivarian Revolution", and he's already doing some serious saber-rattling with a neighboring country.

2008-03-02 03:59:36 PM
Left wing rebels? everyone knows left wingers don't even know how to use a weapon so this is obviously blatantly false. Or is that just Americas liberals?

2008-03-02 04:00:00 PM
Most of the Colombians I've dealt with are fairly ruthless. If Venezuela decides to screw with them, all the best, and here's to Chavez getting put on trial in his own country.

/wants that new
Loremo (new window) car that is supposed to get 150mpg diesel
//wants solar-stirling power in the US for cheaper, cleaner power

The Columbian military bombed a town inside the nation of Ecuador. Where are the articles condemning this?

Hugo Chavez isn't the agressor here. He's sending Venezuelan troops to the border to make sure that the Columbians stay on the Columbian side, and don't try and bomb any Venezuelan towns.
