At the Wiki-Peed's Snake Wine entry I found the name Wang Fuxing.
WOW, what an excellent moniker.

From article: According to Wang Fuxing, the general secretary of the Association for the Conservation of Wild Fauna in China, "the traders exaggerate the protein qualities of snake meat, which makes the consumers seek this dish more and more in restaurants.

Thank You Wang Fuxing.

gigamortis: My personal favorite.

That is indeed some tasty shiat. Can't get it in Halifax. Young's isn't too bad a substitute, though, for when I'm in that peculiar weird mood for chocolate beer.

clamato

"Try Clamato. It's clam juice and 'mato juice together, and you drink it. And notice I said YOU frigging drink it. What sick son-of-a-biatch came up with this? Like someone was drinking a nice glass of 'mato juice and thought,'Boy that needs fish! Put some fish in there! Swizzle a mackerel in there, you sick psychopath'"

Richard Jeni, you are sorely missed

You mix a little Young's Double Chocolate Stout with an equal part Lindemans Framboise and you've got yourself a nice little dessert drink. Almost like a Raspberry Chocolate shake.

rocinante721: For dark beer, the malt is roasted.

Just like chocolate

Just like coffee

All the above-three can be complementary among each other

No chocolate in this, but the roast malt gives it that impression.

Yeah Chocolate Beer is good stuff, but you can't top a good Skittle-brau....

2008-02-28 09:08:30 AM
For you home brewers out there who haven't made a choc. porter or stout, (and want to try real choc., instead of the right mixture of grains) my suggestion- for a 5 gal. batch, add 1 cup of Dutch Bakers Cocoa powder to 3 cups of water, boil, then add to your primary before pitching your yeast. The powdered stuff doesn't have any oils in it, so your brew will retain it's head.

a little cinnamon and vanilla is really good, too. Leave out the Clamato, though...

SilentStrider: you know, i once had a beer that had a just the barest aftertaste of bitter chocolate. It was really pretty good (it was a home brew, if i recall)

It might have been a London Porter (new window) or something similar.

Surprised nobody brought this one up yet.

10.5% alcohol content. It knocks you on your butt and tastes real good too. Too bad it is only seasonal and not available year round.

I could of course always remember a friend's reaction to it...

"scuse me" she said as she headed toward the restroom. "Excuse... ah **** it" followed by the sound of puking and an "ew" from the waitress she'd just thrown up on.

I appear to be the last living human being on earth that likes both Clamato and beer.

But stop mixing it, you goddamn lunatics. Both are much much better on their own.

Chocolate Beer is for neo-geo sippers, not real beer drinkers.
The only time you mix the two is when your lickin the chocolate off her nipples and sippin the suds from her belly button.
