this movie franchise died after the 1st one.

they should make a movie about todays economic crisis.

call it Financial Destination.

/in debt, there is no escape
//black guy is from IRS
///each character has a terrible fate: audited, bankrupt, forclosed....

I liked Part 2 the best. One of the few 'cheapy' horror sequels that really tried to remain cannon with the original.

Part 3 may have had the better deaths, but I wasn't really able to 'root' for anyone, and the picture gimmick was a little stupid.

So the ultimate finale will be the final survivors being killed by a luggage avalanche into the bottom of the Pit of Hell?

the sequels were unnecessary. they leave you with the impression both died.

or at least the guy.

the girl lives in the sequel but is in a mental institution. she's only alive so the sequel could say "look there she is".

she wasn't an integral part of the sequel. it was a cool car accident (and completely unrealistic) but that's where the coolness ended.

just....the sequels were as useless as this post

ok. I rtfa.

its a race car accident. this can go 2 ways:

-deaths on the race track, in which event, its a repeat of FD2--A CAR ACCIDENT, just faster

-something similar to the 1955 Le Mans disaster in which a car flew into the crowd and killed like 80 people. (vids on youtube)

if its the latter, what will happen? hundreds of survivors?

want to be original?

here's some ideas

-sailboat in the chesepeake being operated by drunk teenagers at 3 am, and gets hit by a cargo ship. have a few survivors

-use an actual disaster, like the one at that hotel in the 70s when that walkway over the atrium fell. have a few survivors

-have a bridge collapse in minnesota

-every death is in some way a copying of previous deaths

the franchise had potential.

there should be a rule. after 2, you need The Academy's approval for more sequels

Final Destination 4? Bendin' the needle on that irony-meter, ain't we?

There was a 3rd? Was it direct to video? *doesn't want to search google or imdb*

techhell:

it was actually in theaters but one of those "bottom of the marquee" films.

it went amost unnoticed.

it looked bad.

and not bad meaning good.

So.. um.. I have a question.

Where the previous three supposed to be comedies or horrors? Because I laughed my ass off at them, only to find out that I'm not alone in that.

Some of the deaths in the 3rd one made me laugh!!!!!!

not to get to technical, but here it goes.

I studied film theory for a few years in college.

we know what movie a genre is because of certain semantic elemets. that new will ferrell movie, even though you haven't seen it, you know what it is because of these specific themes.

when we don't know--cant place it--its called avante garde. you can't INVENT a genre because a genre is defined by these semantic themes.

so, FD lacks the semantic themes that makes it a comedy (you woudlnt file it next to Old School or Best In Show) but we laugh because we aren't frightened by it. a movie that makes you jump and squirm and scream and truly scares you, its hard to laugh.

but because the movie FAILS at scaring us, we recognize this disconnect and have 2 choices: no reaction, or laughter

there's a book we had to read called "Men, Women & Chainsaws" and there's a chapter on why death is funny.

there's more to it, but that's the answer.

its not supposed to be funny but nobody-not even the film makers-added any elements that a movie like Saw or even No Country had (where we are in fearful suspense)

Pontius Gandalf: Final Destination 4? Bendin' the needle on that irony-meter, ain't we?

That's nothing compared to Final Fantasy. Twelve games in the main series, a spin-off of X, multiple spin-offs of VII, Tactics, Legends, Crystal Chronicles, and the movie Spirits Within. There's nothing final about it.

The Friday the 13th series saw the release of Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, but it's still going strong.

And that's not even taking "The Final Countdown" into consideration. (pops)

Oh Devon Sawa...where are you now?

So here's a guess at the plot: teens are somewhere fun. Almost partake in fun until one has a bad feeling and stops most of them. Those who paratake in said fun die horrible deaths. Survivors die unrealistic deaths because apparently the Grim Reaper can't just give them a farking heart attack.

/Methinks I'll pass on this crapfest.

I'm tired of these mother farking accidents on these mother farking roller coasters..

I bet I did see this coming...considering he already directed #2...

race car + crash + 3d = win

Everyone did die on fd2 they showed the guy got killed hence why the girl was in a mental institute and the two survivors from fd2 yeah they showed them as dying in the third one.

/also liked all three, thought the third one could have been even better if the choose the death affected more then 1 character.

You're far from alone - when I describe those movies to people and why I like them, I tell them it's a 2 hour South Park with multiple Kennys. :)

This is why our whole group gets together to go see these. The acting, plot, characters, ets are all inconsequencial. We just go to see the death.

You forgot about FF 13, the spin-offs of XII and X-2 was a sequel not a spin-off

I am looking forward to laughing my ass off at some ridiculous death scenes.

assuming it will be simular to the 1955 lemans incident...

have it be nascar, have one of the rednecks see the vision, flip out, allow his trash friends to talk him into remaining seated, *everybody dies*

have the rest of the movie be about the legal battle between the trash siblings of the victims and the racetrack.

/fark: settle out of court , nascar tickets for life and a picture with jeff gordon. disposable camera.
