Isn't this how horror movies start?!

2002-10-29 04:11:49 PM
They are not going to hear any complaints from the folks buried there. I would imagine that the majority of immediate relatives have been dead for awhile as well.

Candypants - Just throw in a cliche like "radiation from space"/"wierd space rock"/ugly alien /lame "original" idea the director has, and it definitely sounds like it.

2002-10-29 04:46:35 PM
"You moved the graves, but you didn't move the bodies!!!"

2002-10-29 04:46:58 PM
Heh. What Candypants said.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A man in Deland, Fla., reportedly tortured and dismembered a cat before eating its tail because it apparently moved his keys, according to police.

See Full Report

Authorities said that James Richie cut the whiskers and eyelids of a stray cat and then cut 8 inches off the cat's tail.

Police said the man, who is apparently mentally challenged, then ate the cat's tail.

Richie reportedly told police that he tortured the cat because the animal misplaced his keys.

Police arrested Richie on animal cruelty charges.

Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

MUCH more interesting than the original story I was suppose to read

Wow, this guy is sick!!!!!

Two words. Zombie Roadkill at Halloween.

Okay, that's more like four words.

2002-10-29 04:49:02 PM
Over my DEAD ...nevermind

2002-10-29 04:49:08 PM

[Henry, Jimmy and Tommy are digging with shovels to find Batts' corpse. Henry is sickened by the stench, but the others don't appear to be bothered]

Tommy DeVito: Hey Henry, Henry, hurry up will you? My mother's gonna make some fried peppers and sausage for us. Oh hey, Henry, Henry. Here's an arm.

Henry Hill: Very funny, guys.

Tommy DeVito: Hey, here's a leg. Here's a wing. [He laughs] Hey, what do you like, the leg or the wing, Henry? Or do you still go for the old hearts and lungs? [Henry vomits]

Whats the differnce between a Freeway and a Turnpike?

2002-10-29 04:58:59 PM
Jeez, didn't these people see Poltergeist?

2002-10-29 05:00:17 PM
more confirmation of a theory i developed last year:

the entire state of new jersey is fast becoming paved over

garden state my ass, its a parking-lot for NYC

2002-10-29 05:01:22 PM
Anyone who's been to New Jersey knows that the LAST thing they need is another farkin' turnpike.

The damn state must be 80% highways and factories already.

Eh, getting buried is retarded anyway. I can't believe that so many people:

a) are willing to spend THOUSANDS on a freaking BOX to place into the ground, and

b) actually CARE about their final resting place. It's not like you'll be there to notice if it's mowed or whatever.

2002-10-29 05:04:53 PM
Why would they pave the Medowlands?

2002-10-29 05:06:26 PM
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww.

2002-10-29 05:10:31 PM
Ahhh yes. I see that Jersey is still spending money that they don't have.

2002-10-29 05:12:02 PM
my GOD! haven't they seen poltergeist???

2002-10-29 05:12:07 PM
Backgroundnoise

Yeah, NJ is a garden... if you like smokestacks.

2002-10-29 05:16:57 PM
DavidZ: freeways are free. turnpikes are toll roads.

2002-10-29 05:20:35 PM
People don't realize this, but in New Jersey the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike are holy places, much more sacred than any cemetary.

2002-10-29 05:22:16 PM
I always thought it was stupid to bury people. I mean, 'they don't make land anymore'; surely it won't happen anytime soon, but there's only so much land available on this planet. Burn 'em.

2002-10-29 05:34:26 PM
This could clear up a few missing people cases...

2002-10-29 05:36:32 PM
Chances that this will end up spawning some cheese-fest horror movie in a few years, probably of the construction workers being terrorized by the undead? Any guesses?

2002-10-29 05:36:45 PM
How do you ever expect to find Jimmy Hoffa if you don't dig up NJ?

Can any of you assfarts see smokestacks in this photo?

2002-10-29 05:46:11 PM
That's just a still from the new LOTR movie. Asshat.

2002-10-29 05:51:24 PM
Why bother with the expense of moving them?

Everyone knows that they will rise from the dead and hitch hike back to their old graves!

2002-10-29 06:01:31 PM
they're not building a new freeway or highway. they're adding a new interchange (like, a highway exit) to the New Jersey Turnpike. (also known as rt 95 in other states).

The article states that the new interchange will be between 15E and 16E. Where the hell is that? There's nothing between 15E and 16E but swamp AFAIK, until you get really close to 16E there in Secaucus behind that industrial park. Are they just expanding 16E?

Oh, and NJ is the best state in the union, by far.

2002-10-29 06:07:57 PM
CRAP! I got here too late to make the first obvious Poltergeist reference... so do me a favor -pretend- this is the first:

"This interchange is clear!"

I think this is part of the project to turn the swampland behind Secaucus into a giant mall/amusement park.

Oh, and NJ is the best state in the union, by far.

This maybe the truest thing ever said on Fark.com.

Jesus It's a State road crew. They'll dig-up great, great-grandfather, but Jimmy Hoffa gets a fifty mile detour.

2002-10-29 06:43:53 PM
I feel a sequel coming on...

Poltergeist 18 : The Haunted Turnpike

2002-10-29 06:46:07 PM
The work is needed to make way for a new turnpike interchange in Secaucus

That's right next to the New Jersey Meadowlands where both the New York Jets and Giants play. These guys might as well move the Jets and Giants, too, since they're playing like corpses.

2002-10-29 06:46:07 PM
How does that Carlin quote go?

"Now there's another place where we can put low-cost housing - cemeteries! Saving all the dead people for one part of town? What the hell kind of a medieval supersticious religious bullshiat idea is that? Plow these motherfarkers up, plow them into the streams and rivers of America, we need that phosphorous for FARMING! If we're going to recycle, LETS GET SERIOUS!"

All i know is that there's nothing in space stranger than some of the chemicals in my NJ backyard. 2 ounces of New Jersey soil can reanimate the dead corpse of Elvis farking Presley on a pogo stick for God's sake.

2002-10-29 07:05:15 PM
F*u*c*k 'em. I'm gettin' cremated.

2002-10-29 08:48:05 PM
"They don't make land anymore."

The Dutch do.

2002-10-29 09:29:08 PM
In Gaffney, SC there is a graveyard in the center divider of I-85 near exit 92. About 6-7 graves on a top of a small hill in a grove of oaks. Check it out if you happen to be driving through.

2002-10-29 09:29:18 PM
Names for it? Ammityville (kill that spelling?) Roadhouse Turnpike? Ammityville Roadhouse Blues... nah.
Hey! What happens when someone "inadvertantly" hits a body. Would they be prosecuted for involuntary man-post slaughter?

2002-10-29 10:36:09 PM
I thought 95% of New Jersey was the shallow graves of murder victims? How is digging up bodies anywhere in that state a major story?

2002-10-30 12:04:45 AM
Nice of them to choose the mental hospital/penetentiary/poorhouse cemetery. They probably have few records and few family members/descendants that can make a verifiable claim and argument against it. Kind of like Native American gravesites, which are also dug up in the name of progress.

2002-10-30 01:05:07 AM
I remember when a story similar to this hit front-page of the newspaper here.. the article was continued to another page, where the final quote was something like "I suspect this announcement has only been made because its the first day of april."

2002-10-30 10:58:23 AM
They probably want to make it easier to get to the outlet mall that the arena is going to turn into when the Devils and Nets move to Newark.

2002-10-30 12:17:47 PM
Will the Real...James Hoffa...please, get dug up?

2002-10-30 04:44:31 PM
"Don't hassle the dead, boy. They have eerie powers."
