Star Wars Lightsabers (Hasbro, $29.99)

This weapon, with an extendable plastic blade that lights up, gives the illusion of shooting a beam of light.

What is this, hottest toys 1984?

And the San Fernando Valley area, the most popular toy for the children this Christmas Season will be Ben-Wa balls and buttplugs. (For those of you who know what the main, um, industry is in that town.)

''We Did It'' Dancing Dora the Explorer doll (Mattel's Fisher-Price,$30)

This Hispanic doll is based on a Nickelodeon show called ''Dora the Explorer.'' Dora moves her hat and says phrases in English and Spanish. She also sings the theme song from the show ''We Did It.''

Zeusgod - Been able to get DHCP to work through that thing yet? I've tried it on both DSL with a working DHCP server, and on cable internet using the cable companies DHCP server, neither works.

Ignore the fact that this is a turbo and imagine that it is a supercharger for a 95 Mustang GT

i just want a hula hoop.

Ignore the fact that the turbo previously displayed is for a 95 Mustang GT. It shall be installed in a 375 lb motorcycle.

<- Child of the Star Wars/Transformers/Zoids/Starriors/Sectaurs era, our toys will always rate as the best ever.

2002-10-28 05:53:21 PM
Okay what do all of these toys have in common?

That's right- THEY ALL SUCK!

What happened to the cool toys of my youth? Like (good and cheap) Star Wars sets, GI Joe, masters Of The Universe, Transformers?????
Oh that's right, they still are making those but for "collectors"- meaning a kid is going to have to pay triple what we paid for them 15 years ago for the exact same toy. What happened to the toy industry? It's so atrophied and full of over-priced junk.

My girlfriend's getting me the new Optimus Prime for either Xmas or my birthday next month.

And in case you didn't know, Hasbro is re-issuing vintage Transformers exclusively at Toys R Us. The first wave consisted of Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod. All in 80's packaging with the original back-of-the-box art with the tech-specs and everything. Unfortunately they can't release Megatron because of the laws that have come out since the 80's prohibiting toys that look like real guns (and Megatron looks very real).

except when the damn ps2 decides it doesn't want to work anymore because they are pieces of shiat

Those tiny remote control cars from Radio Shack (Micro RC)are gonna be huuuuuuuge, because they're only $20 (US). Got one two weeks ago and use it all the time. No good on carpet though.

2002-10-28 06:37:13 PM
They don't make 'em like they used to. (I just love sounding like an old fart) Kids need to go to X-Entertainment and hear Matt tell them what real toys are all about. GI Joe, He Man, TMNT, Transformers--the old stuff I mean. And what's up with all the crappy Lego sets? If I have kids he's going to learn how to build a castle blindfolded.

"What do you really want?"

"Real Estate"

All junk. When I want to buy a toy for my nephew, the first place I go to parent watchdog group websites and check out the latest list of toys they're trying to ban.

Lawn darts are NOT too dangerous for a 4-year-old.

"Like, the Nimbus 2000 is SOOOO last year..."

Fiver-:

You sure about that law prohibiting toys that look like guns? I used to, and still do for costumes and such, buy toy guns. You can get pretty realistic AR-15s and Colt .45s at the stores near my house. Of course they have that wussy high-vis orange paint on them, but all you need to change that is some matte black enamel paint.

amigajoe Thank you SO much for that pic. Megatron was one of the bestest toys EVER!! And hey....lookit me! I somehow managed to play with that toy ALL the time, and still not grow up to be some sort of killer. The Transformers OWNED! And still do, IMHO.
