that will make waiting in line at Dunkin Donuts even more of a pain.

/I hate when the bozos in front of me order egg sandwiches, it ties up the clerks, when all I want is my coffee.

I used to work at a DD in high school and I can honestly say, do not eat there. At least 10% of those donuts have hit the ground and if you prefer Munchkins bump that number on up to 50%. Also never work there, the mixture of proofing bread dough and lard smells like an extremely fat chick with a yeast infection.

/Can no longer eat donuts

Since DD has changed it's fryer oil to one without trans-fat, their donuts have an after taste like hot used motor oil smells.

I recently bought donuts for the folks at work. We had to throw over 50% of them away because no one would eat them. After everyone tried just one donut, they couldn't eat anymore. For the first time in my life, I bit into a donut then threw it away without eating it. Now, just the thought of eating a Dunkin Donut turns my stomach.

No trans fat. Thanks, fatties.

Yea, new menu...in Maine. We've had the pizza thing in Mass. for about 8 months already. BTW, don't eat those "hash browns" they have...ever.

/still good coffee.

Dogberry: Mmmm... Krispy Kreme. Oops, wrong thread.

I miss my free Krispy Kreme coffee from when I worked in corporate accounting. The culture of nepotism there ruined the coffee when the new VP of beverages and son-in-law of a board member, insisted on far too dark of a roast for the Arabica. But the master roaster was cool and would hook me up with the good stuff.

Ah, I miss that coffee. I do not miss the malfeasance and 50lbs I gained though.

Could we get them to get rid of the drive-thru while they're at it?

I mean, seriously, I know it will never happen but for Pete's sake, if you're going to pig out on saturated fat and empty calories, the least you can do is walk the freaking 10 feet to the door.

Con_Authority: Since DD has changed it's fryer oil to one without trans-fat, their donuts have an after taste like hot used motor oil smells.

They need to change the oil more often or use better oil. There's really no excuse for not making normal cooking oil work.

DD is ok, they keep jacking the coffee prices up though. Also, as has been noted, don't eat the food. I don't care how good the thought of a maple, bacon, egg, donut sandwhich sounds

What you mean to say is that YOU dropped 10% of the donuts and 50% of the munchkins. You dirty bastard.

I had one of their flat-bread turkey, bacon, and cheese sandwiches yesterday. I gotta say.....it was mighty tasty. I was shocked to see pizza on there also. They looked like Red Baron pizzas.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I love their doughnut holes!!

Too bad that it is mostly Krispy Creams around here, not that there is anything wrong with Krispy Creams.

Sometimes I'm running late for work and don't have time to get out the car. All I want is a medium cup of coffee with lowfat milk and lots of sugar. Damn can't brotha get some damn coffee without you calling me out for using the drive-thru

The flatbread things are actually half decent. They keep giving me coupons for free ones like every morning. The pizza though is nothing more than a digorno type thing.

Their hash browns, however, are terrible. I didn't think it would be humanly possible to have bad hashbrowns, especially when you are hungover, but dunkin donuts found a way to do it.

2008-02-13 10:15:01 AM
Dunkin's makes me sick...can't drink the coffee since they went to flavor shots.

Try a local coffee house. You don't have to deal with the flotsam behind the counter, and most of the time you don't have to smell the fats.

/Prefer The Ultimate Perk, Andover MA
//Better scenery behind the counter

I just switched to a local coffee house from dunkies, it's cheaper, faster, better and friendlier, Im sure I'll still go there for ice coffee in the summer but for now I recommend herell's on brighton ave boston ma

Krispy Kreme is way better than DD overall, if that's not already obvious.

2008-02-13 10:20:25 AM
Well, I'm out now. I used to occasionally get a hot-donut-instead-of-a-brownie hot fudge sundae at the places with a BaskinRobbins paired with it. Now I'll have to go somewhere else for that.

Guess I'm the only one here that loves good old Dunkin Donuts. Good coffee, donuts, and sandwiches in my opinion.

Yup, just here to say that and show the DD love.

Damn real, there is a bakery on the north end of town here that has the best farking apple fritters you'd ever think were in existence.

I swear, it's pumping apple sugar heroin into your veins its that damn good.

DnD coffee sucks.
I don't know if I just grew up and realized it, or if their coffee got worse over the years. I tend to think that their coffee used to be decent and now it blows chunks (I'm talking over the last 20 years).

Buy a Bunn coffee maker and get the best coffee very quickly. That is the only way for me now. No need to stop at DnD's if I can make 8 cups in 2 minutes on my Bunn and it makes DnD coffee taste like dishwater.

They need to hire more staff then.

When someone orders food, it breaks the whole process.

I'm in DD's backyard (New England) and I made the switch to Tim Horton's months ago. Better breakfast sandwiches and coffee that's just as good as DD's.

Bonus -- No waiting in ridiculous drive-thru lines that extend INTO THE FREAKING STREET AND BLOCK TRAFFIC of retarded sheep that have to get the DD coffee every morning.

Donuts are evil. I will only eat one if someone brings them to work and I get to the box fast enough to get the one boston cream, thats the only one I like.

Sorry, guys, I wasn't looking at it from the point of view of people just stopping for coffee.

I think it's just that having worked for a certain coffeehouse chain bent on total world domination, knowing what goes on in the back room has left me somewhat queasy about the thought of eating or drinking anything that comes from a drive-thru.

Hot donuts are the best.

They melt in your mouth.

Eating krispy cream donuts is like eating a bag of sugar.

Soon, Dunkin' Donuts will the only restaurant we have in this region. Thai food? Dunkin' has it. Sushi? Dunkin' has it. Huevos rancheros and menudo? Dunkin' has it.

I feel like I'm perpetually stuck in Demolition Man, because there is a DuDos (sometimes 2) on every corner.

Sometimes I really, really hate this city.

The smell of them baking at 4.30AM was enough to send you into diabetic shock. Urk.

Dunkin Donuts, the Starbucks of New England.

Seriously, I think there's at least one DD per square mile around here. There were 4 of them within 5 minutes' drive of my old place.
