Eh?

2002-10-28 08:55:53 AM
Oh, that's nothing like Fark.

So as well as tabloid reporting, we'll have to suffer Joe Public's reaction to world events. "Like, wow, the Queen was there an' that..."

Right.

I'm sick of motherskying people motherskying ripping people's ideas off. They can all go sky themselves.

If I wanted to read crap like this I'd be at MeFi right now. Lo and behold, this is posted there as well.

This is FARK. Give us what we expect. Anything's better than this garbage.

Another side of Murdoch "journalism", I expect to see a similar thing happen in the The Sun.

2002-10-28 09:12:29 AM
Dattaway -so if it were done by the Sun it would be just like Fark?

2002-10-28 09:17:15 AM
It's also interesting that I'm seein more and more online newspapers having a section for odd news.

2002-10-28 09:20:34 AM
Sue Sky News Corp. for infringement of copywrite, ie. Fark format.

They ask - 'Simply tell us in no more than 300 words how a particular news event touched your life.'

Well - Wife bites husband to death for sex refusal

http://www.fark.com/cgi/comments.pl?IDLink=330727

That touched me. I decided to either never marry, or never marry someone ugly.

2002-10-28 09:38:48 AM
That is so tacky.

2002-10-28 09:40:07 AM
Come to think of it, just ripe for sabotage too....

Heh.

2002-10-28 09:59:32 AM
Ok Sky News, I liked you better the first time I saw you... when you were called Fark

2002-10-28 10:12:43 AM
It's A Trap!

The SkyNet funding bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. SkyNet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14am Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
And, Skynet fights back

2002-10-28 10:22:09 AM
It's called "sky witness" hahahahaha... I don't get it!

2002-10-28 10:26:43 AM
I think calling this a ripoff of Fark is stretching things a tad. Not a terrible idea, really. Most of the folks writing in seem to be recording their personal experiences during some tragedy or other. Anyone read Haruki Murakami's Underground? Was that a literary fark ripoff?

2002-10-28 10:46:35 AM
It's not Fark, it's your other personality coming out.

stupid corporate w*nkers!!

Most people are idiots. Fark is interesting because it's funny. Imagine the same type of inane comments, but without humor. Ugh. Depressing.

At the same time, I can't wait to go and mess with their little heads. "Gosh, I can't believe they're arresting people for murder these days. Why not let the murderers run free on the condition that they kill a few retarded children?"
