zephman: plummet: The fish-n-chips place near my home serves these. I had one once, just to say I had. All by itself, it pretty much ensured I'll be dead by 60.

a salt and battery?

That place is great....I miss not working down there anymore.
That stuff used to smell the whole office up, so we would all get it together.

Nein, danke. I'd like to keep my arteries in reasonable working order for the time being.

And knowing me, I'd probably accidentally set the house on fire and burn myself to death.

Deep-fried White Castle burger. Now that's good stuff.

As an avid consumer of Fast food and a slightly over weight person I must say, that looks completely disgusting.

I've never had any of the new-ish creative deep-fried delights... no twinkies, snickers, mars, or coke.

The closest I've had is funnel cake. (and come to think of it, I haven't had that in 10 years.)

However, I'm visiting a friend in Vegas from the 23-27, and she's quite excited to share with me the joy of fried twinkies. I have to admit, I'm actually pretty excited by the prospect too.

quippers01: SumJackass07: I wonder if they explode like mozzarella sticks if you leave them in too long....

Thanks, thanks a lot...now I HAVE to try to make mozzarella sticks explode.

/I don't know why

Ingredients: Frozen Mozzarella Sticks, 400 degree F oil
Steps:
1 Dump frozen mozzarella sticks into 400 degree oil.
2 Wait while they cook
3 Keep waiting after they start floating and eventually watch the cheese pop out into the oil.
4 Take out mozzarella sticks and ice burns
5 Eat your fried breaded cylinders

I'll stick to the shepherd's pie and a carling.

I was more interested in the cheese filled bacon wrapped deep fried hot dogs from last week.

/not so big on chocolate
//mmmm bacon

Who the hell sat around and though this up in the first place?

"Ya know, I bet a deep fried chocolate candy bar would be awesome! Pass the bong duuude."

RabidCanary: Those are not that bad for you... as long as you run one of these through your main artery once in a while.

Not to mention thru yer colon...that would make a damn good enema with enough force...not that I would try...

justanotherfarkinfarker - What is the oil temp? also what kind of batter?

My guess is about 375, and a tempura-type batter.

Shakespeare's Monkey: You can get deep fried anything at the Ohio State Fair, and I suspect many other fairs as well. I remember deep fried Snickers bars. The best part is when they ask you if you would like it rolled in powdered sugar. Yes, yes I would.

yes, love the ohio state fair, deep fried pickles, cheese cake, you name it!! Good thing it's only a few weeks in the summer

To quote or paraphrase somebody from last year's thread about Gigantic-assed Cadbury creme eggs..."I think I just Cadbury'd in my pants!"

Me and my cousin did this, except we used a graham crumb crust. Frozen bars work best, and use some egg as a binding ingredient.

YUM.

Oh, and to recap some important points:

In the UK, the Mars bar is the equivalent to the U.S. Three Musketeers bar. (an earlier farker said Milky Way, but Wiki says it's closer to the sweeter Three Musketeers bar)

But, if you want to go with the discontinued U.S. Mars bar, it's now the Snickers with Almonds.

i thought the caption above the image was fantastic:

"At last a solution to social security deficits."

The idea of eating a deep-friend candy bar is disturbing.

JPhilB - No one has mentioned that they like to sprinkle them with malt vinegar!!

I did. I aksed if it was a joke, because yeah... "WTF!!" about sums it up. No one has confirmed or denied it though.

Margarita - good sweet and sour
Fried candy bar and vinegar - "WTF!!!"

The thought of a deep-fried candy bar does not offend me. In fact, it sounds quite tasty.

The thought of said candy bar being fried in the same oil as fish, however, turns my stomach.

BABY!! The other white meat...

On a side note this is the country that also serves Haggis..
Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish.

There are many recipes, most of which have in common the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours.

Yummy, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little just then..

/Scottish = angry drunk

Wait till ya try the deep fried haggis. A Sheep's stomach stuffed with wheat & barley and bits of who knows what, covered in egg, rolled in cornmeal and deep fried. Served with a warm pint of Guinness beer. Kind of looks like a day old placenta until you pour some of the beer over it. Does Not Taste Like Chicken....

/Has anyone ever deep-fried a Fry Daddy?

i worked a restaurant in high school busing tables. we'd mess around in the kitchen before the dinner rush and one day we batter-dipped and deep fried one of the restaurants signature burgers. it was two 6oz patties with bacon, 1000 island, and the usual fixings. i took two bites and it was disgustingly good. the best part was the feeling of losing five years of my life with every bite.
