Cool.

Yet, with all the nifty scientific and pollitical related applications of this data, I somehow see the one the public is most aware of will be it's inclusion in the next release of Flight Simulator...

As long as it's used to guide missiles more accurately, I approve. I hope they release Belgrade soon.

Obvious response 1: Will France be on it?

my response: Will the USA not look so freakin' huge compared to all the other countries(exception, Russia).

I hope this one shows us all, once and for all time, which countries are supposed to be purple, which ones are green, and which ones are yellow. In all honesty, almost 40 years of exporing space and NASA releases a map of.... Earth!!

Exactly, Flash.
Some maps I have seen show one Germany. Some show an East and West Germany. This should settle that once and for all.

While reading this article I was amazed at the fact that NASA, or america in general was contributing to something positive for the human race, until I read the one liner burried somewhere in the middle of the article that states the main reason, DEFENCE, of course. Is is some type of psycological miscue that americans label anything in their multi-trillion dollar millitary, DEFENCE? Note to Americans: the only people on earth fooled by this is, well the american people, so your rich corporations don't have to spend any money on it, just make the working man pay for it when he can't afford to have any life to defend anyway.
