Something like this happened in an episode of My Name Is Earl. It's a shame that show isn't funnier.

FTA:"Police also claim that Romanyszyn put a water bottle with a suspicious white power and screws into a student's desk and scattered nails around the lot where teachers parked."

How's that for a nice typo?! Leave the Aryan brotherhood out of this! ... What a weird story, sign of the times #2,063 I suppose.

Looked like she quit the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

What has to happen in someone's life to make them think, "You know... I think calling in bomb threats to my place of employment, which is full of little kids, is a pretty good idea. I'm sure they'll understand that I don't wanna teach 4th grade as soon as this is all over."g

Was there no one in her life to say, "Now hang on a minute... you may not have thouht your cunning plan all the way through?" I'm just shocked that she did it FIFTEEN TIMES and still thought IT WAS OK! Lunatic.

She should plead not guilty by reason of insanity. I would be crazy if I had to put up with damn kids all day.

FAIL

Some days even teachers don't want to go to school.

This.

Kids are getting dumber, meaner, and more entitled...but then, so are the teachers.

/Romanyszyn, eh? She's either a loony Russki (hot) or married a loony Russki (not hot).

Awesome. My hometown of Doylestown gets a mention.

I love our psycho teachers! Can you believe that our school district (Central Bucks) is actually one of the highest paying districts in the country? Looks like that money is well spent.

Nevermind. I fail. She's from a neighboring school district.

at least she had a rational response to not getting the class assignment she wanted

Correct. She's in the Centennial Joint School District, where I served my adolescence in a high school that's now a nursing home.

Wow... That's all kinds of farked up.

Is there really that big a difference between teaching 4th graders rather than 5th graders?

"You have denied me the joy of introducing the children to fractions, feel my wrath!!!!"

I have several friends who just want a teaching job, and this lady is upset that she's not teaching the right grade?!

Its not like you go to college and get all of these degrees to teach a specific grade.

See, this is the kind of crazy that comes from being denied access to a lover, not job stuff... (See: Astronaut Lisa Nowak)

I bet further investigations reveal she was banging a kid who will be in 5th grade... or maybe a fellow teacher, whom teaching 5th grade would have given her more access to.

Or maybe she's boning the principal, and is pisssed he didn't give her what she wanted... or maybe he just quit boning her...

I don't know the specifics, but mark my words... boning is involved.

Does anyone remember a time when adults (especially those in authority positions) acted like adults?

Me neither.

Shiat, throw the book at her. Not only did she try and panic everyone in the region for her own petty reasons, she tried to ruin the lives of a couple randomly selected kids.

And my home town of Warminster is where it is happening. She is in Centennial, not Central Bucks. One of my friends' girlfriend works with the lady. All this over not getting the classroom assignment she wanted!

That article went on forever, funny how they just toss this off at the end:
Longstreth received another threat over the weekend, but Romanyszyn was not charged in connection with that incident.

The fact that the school district attempted to make it seem like it was one of the students is criminal. These kids were actually strip searched, even though this teacher had been on leave since October, and was the main suspect.

2008-02-02 11:14:08 AM
Hmmm, let's see how it's going to work out for the offending "educators:" will they be subject to draconian punishments under zero tolerance policies, or will the teacher's union defend them to the death while they're suspended without pay?

America's public schools have become nothing but an employment program for asshats who could never hack it in the real world. God I hate public school administrators.
