While I think that she-beast (Coulter) is full of sh*t, I honestly don't get all the conservative angst about McCain. He really does have a very conservative record over a long career, for the very most part.

Was McCain-Feingold really that bad?

I consider myself liberal, but Hillary is so liberal it scares me. I guess I'm happy that I don't share an opinion with Anne Coulter on this one, I'll take it as a sign that I haven't gone insane just yet.

Man Coulter is so farkign irrelevant. Why does anyone publish the turd that comes out of her mouth? I can understand why a troll-for-clicks outfit like Fark gives it oxygen, but even Fox must realize that this is just so much dumb hot air?

If you think Hilary is an incredible liberal, you really don't know what that word means.

I appreciate your position in regard to not sharing an opinion with Anne Coulter. She's an idiot.

Reason #3409857 to support Obama over Hillary.
And reason # 3408573498578304759328475 to hate Coulter.

Zamboro: I consider myself liberal, but Hillary is so liberal it scares me.

If you think Hillary is that liberal you either 1) are confusing that word/concept with some other word/concept,

or

2) You listen to too much talk radio (which would go a long way towards explaining #1)

Funny video. Ann really seems to like Hillary, huh. It's like you could hear the minds of Coulter fanatics all exploding.

Is this some sort of reverse-anti-bizzaro world un-psychology or something? Mann Coulter... backing any Democrat over a Repub... Even one who is so obviously a Neocon in a donkey costume?

You're going to have to excuse me, I think I feel a stroke coming on.

He doesn't want to shoot 12 million people back over the border with a catapult and he refuses to torture brown people... Both of those are non-starters for Republican pundits.

Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter suddenly say they'll vote Hillary over any Republican candidate.

Is it because,

A) She's a woman?
B) She's a Corporate Crony?
C) She has the lowest chance of winning the general election?
D) They are evil warmongers and, as such, want more evil warmongers in office?

I report, you decide.

I'm wondering if Ann thinks this will kill Hillary's campaign. All the Hillary supporters who hate Ann will start to doubt their trust just enough to let Obamma in and then bam! Hillary's out completely. The timing is perfect for this.

Echoic: There's been a lot of hate towards McCain for McCain-Feingold. Can someone explain to me why? I didn't see what was so bad about this.

I'm pretty indifferent towards it (but I do love me some Feingold). The main objection seems to be that it limits free speech. I'm glad it closed up some of the soft money, but it seems like a temporary fix on a system that needs to be thrown out and redone completely.

And I didn't watch the video, but my guess is that a Clinton would make Ann Coulter a truckload more money than McCain in office.

The Republicans are looking at a big loss in 08. They don't have a candidate, and the record of the last seven years was a disaster. This year looks like the economy is going to fail them as well.

So the only strategy left is to drive people away from the polls. The reason that works is that there are a few die hards that will always vote for thir party on both sides, and their numbers are about equal. So if they are the only ones who vote, the Republicans have a chance?

So how do you keep the people away from the polls that aren't politics junkies, and who would overwhelmingly vote Republican?

1. Sowing confusion, trying to make the Democrats look just like the Republicans
2. Mudslinging, even throwing mud at your own guy. Mudslinging always reduces the voter turnout, which is the real goal here.

So by attacking their own guy they are actually hurting the democrats...

Yeah, funny isn't it? But that's how it works. The important numbers they are looking at in the primaries are the turnout numbers, and they are a lot better for them Democrats than the Republican (up to now anyway). That has to change no matter what if the Republicans want to win this fall.

There is another (similar) explanation, that they are doing the same thing Bush did to him they did in 2000, pissing people off to reduce Republican primary turnout and improve the chances that the party's fovoite wins. But that seems like a risky strategy at this stage.

The bigger point is: Negative campaigning CONSISTENTLY reduces voter turnout. Also, it preferentially reduces the turnout of people that the party machines can control.

That is that whole idea to Rove style campaigning. Energize the radicals with the batshiat craziest ideas you can come up with and drive the marginally interested from the polls with negative campaigning.

But energizing the radicals is going to be tough this year for the Republicans, and the economy and the war is going to make it even tougher. So scorched Earth may be the best bet.

I don't think coulter is relevant for anything more than a punchline anymore. she's about done.

a lot of the voices from the last few years that have had me wondering what the hell happened to my country are becoming less and less relevant (coulter, rush, rumsfeld, cheney, bush, etc).
it warms my heart to see reality run them over like a squirrel playing in traffic. I can only hope that what comes next is better.

It's to help Obama. I know many conservatives that would vote FOR obama over McCain in the general.

Remember this is all predicated on the belief McCain wins the nomination. If Romney pulls it out, then everyone will rally behind him. The best thing the dems could do then would be to still nominate Obama as he has the most vote pulling potential.

That and he's still young so he could be influenced by events and circumstances in the whitehouse and not turn out to be marxist. Whereas with Hillary, you get marxism to the core.

Blech.

She knows her fifteen minutes are almost up, so what better way to milk it a little more? It's controversial enough to get the media to cover it (What?? Coulter supporting Dems??) and she gets a few more hours in the spotlight. Malkin is doing the same thing (in fact, I think she did it first!)

That, or she's trying the old "Jedi Mind Trick"....
