It's on MSNBC right now. This could be HUGE for Obama - lets hope he endorses.

2008-01-30 09:06:57 AM
Please God let it be so....

2008-01-30 09:07:08 AM
GaryPDX: The plot thickens. He's dropping a little early unless, Obama/Edwards 08?

MSNBC saying there's almost no chance he backs Hillary.

2008-01-30 09:07:35 AM
I'm in it for the long haul...

DamnYankees: This could be HUGE for Obama - lets hope he endorses.

That's the speculation, isn't it? That he will endorse Obama if anyone?

2008-01-30 09:08:33 AM
Bullshiatter: I'm in it for the long haul...

As VP!

2008-01-30 09:08:53 AM
They're both pretty good looking as far as goverment guys go.

This could be good for them.

Speculation, yeah, but not wild.

Edwards wants a Cabinet post, not VP again. Dumping out before Super Tuesday means he won't be offering a lot of delegates.

Hillary is screwed, though. Yay.

2008-01-30 09:11:00 AM
THis will make the Thurdsay debate a whole lot different.

2008-01-30 09:11:16 AM
Crap, I like him
And I was just thinking about his statement about being in it for the long haul.

Delegates? No. Votes? Yes. Hopefully.

2008-01-30 09:11:48 AM
I think he'd make a nice counterpoint to Obama and help him carry the south/midwest in a presidential election. Very nice move.

2008-01-30 09:12:16 AM
DarthBrooks: Edwards wants a Cabinet post

Yup. Minister of Channeling Dead Girls, perhaps?

2008-01-30 09:12:30 AM
yay!

Dogberry: Yup. Minister of Channeling Dead Girls, perhaps?

Secretary of Hair, duh.

2008-01-30 09:15:34 AM
WHat is also great is this totally takes the Hillary Florida thing totally out of the headlines.

2008-01-30 09:16:01 AM
Rudy will soon, too.

Notice that ron paul hasn't dropped out, even though he is scraping the bottom. Every other candidate with results that low has already dropped out. This tells you something--paul's in it for ego and nuttiness

2008-01-30 09:19:18 AM
why is hillary screwed?
big deal if edwards endorses obama..
endorsements don't really mean anything.. people will (hopefully) vote the way they want, not the way someone tells them to...

2008-01-30 09:19:24 AM
Well ain't that something.

2008-01-30 09:19:35 AM
albo: Rudy will soon, too.

Didn't Rudy drop out last night?

2008-01-30 09:19:48 AM
Endorsement or no, a two-way race favors Obama.

Clintons are shiatting bricks this morning.

2008-01-30 09:20:10 AM
Well, it's about time, he's just been milling about.

2008-01-30 09:20:49 AM
Didn't Rudy drop out last night?

i think it's gonna be made official today. man, he really squandered a great start

2008-01-30 09:21:04 AM
Lord of Allusions: Well, it's about time, he's just been milling about.

I see what you did there.

2008-01-30 09:21:15 AM
Well this announcement woke me up quickly. Looks like I'm not getting any work done today. I wasn't expecting this until after Super Tuesday, but I guess he was hoping to do a lot better in South Carolina.

I can only assume/hope he'd endorse Obama, but I don't see him being VP. I would think Obama would look for someone with a little more experience to give his administration some "legitimacy" in the eyes of the doubters, such as those that constantly complain he has no policies despite repeated evidence to the contrary.

DamnYankees: WHat is also great is this totally takes the Hillary Florida thing totally out of the headlines.

And this.

/GObama!

2008-01-30 09:21:15 AM
In other news, Obama has just crushed Hillary in all projections nationwide.

sparky1013: endorsements don't really mean anything.. people will (hopefully) vote the way they want, not the way someone tells them to...

True, but his supporters have to go somewhere. I doubt they'll switch their registration to Republican over it.

2008-01-30 09:21:45 AM
IIRC, Edwards was leading in some of the southern Super Tuesday states. It will be interesting indeed to see how they choose now....

2008-01-30 09:21:54 AM
lima beans: Didn't Rudy drop out last night?

Not officially. There are apparently still a few people out there that had a view of Logan airport on 9/11.

2008-01-30 09:21:59 AM
Obama/Kucinich '08!

2008-01-30 09:22:05 AM
And then if Obama picks up Richardson as well, this could be huge.

But it will take a substantial amount of momentum, something this big, to get Obama past Billary.

2008-01-30 09:22:10 AM
His amazingly gorgeous and unexpectedly hot hair.

That I want to run my fingers through.

2008-01-30 09:22:11 AM
albo: man, he really squandered a great start

He just isn't Republican enough for the base.

"What about McCain?"

Quiet you.

2008-01-30 09:22:26 AM
Yay! Here's hoping he endorses Obama that should make Hillary go into to a frothing rage.

2008-01-30 09:22:35 AM
Down to Obama vs Hillary and McCain vs Romney

GaryPDX: Why not?, he's got the money and the ideals

a true party statesmen acknowledges when he's been defeated and then graciouisly gets out of the way to let his party chose its candidate. he can then use his support and money to help the party win in the fall and work from within to achieve the changes he wants.

2008-01-30 09:23:20 AM
Andrew Wiggin: Not officially. There are apparently still a few people out there that had a view of Logan airport on 9/11.

Thanks for asking.

DamnYankees: WHat is also great is this totally takes the Hillary Florida thing totally out of the headlines.

Did you hear her press conference last night? She acted like she just won the farking Superbowl. Her voice was so shrill it reminded me of my 90 year old nun teachers back in the day.

2008-01-30 09:23:31 AM
Will have to wait for an endorsement - I really, really hope he endorses with Gore tomorrow or Friday.

2008-01-30 09:23:54 AM
I really hope this helps Obama, but I'm kind of worried that Edwards voters will swing Clinton's way. I guess we'll have to see what happens... Either way, I think he'd make a good AG.

2008-01-30 09:24:00 AM
atlanta_ufo: Down to Obama vs Hillary and McCain vs Romney

And Romney's legs are getting wobbly. Super Tuesday will probably finish him off. Who knows how long he will hang on, though.

2008-01-30 09:24:18 AM
nekom: True, but his supporters have to go somewhere

they may split the vote.. edwards and hillary are more similar than they are different... (side by side comparison)...

really though after super tuesday we'll see who's going to come out ahead... its a waiting game...

Could someone help me out, I don't quite follow this whole presidential race. Who are the top Democrat candidates and who are the Republican candidates?

/Genuine question

Jennifer: Bah I submitted it first! :[

Yes you did, in the "Florida reaffirms its electoral reputation, as 400,000 Dems and independents vote in "closed" GOP primary, enough to change the outcome" thread
