6 foggers in a house that small, no wonder it blew.

I'll say it again. String bets aren't allowed. You'll only see it in the movies.

One weekend when I was 12 I was away with my dad, a rat ran across my mom's chest. She set off at least TEN bug bombs and sealed the house up and left.

The pilot light on the hot water heater was still on though. Blew the damn bathroom door off the hinges, but no fire.

I skipped school on Monday, and because the people who rented from us next door had a pathological liar for a son, everyone was giving me condolences for my house BURNING DOWN, and I hadn't heard anything about it lol.

Kids are stupid. So are moms.

Speaking of which, new episode tonight.

I can only imagine what kind of infestation compelled them to use 6 bombs. Assuming they're not total r-tards (bear with me here), another great Discovery show (Dirty Jobs) showed this one place where the roaches were literally swarming behind every cabinet and cupboard. I've probably already assumed too much, but maybe they were just really filthy and not quite so r-tarded.

But did it kill the bugs?

that dirty jobs episode was from new orleans where they were cleaning out deserted houses that were destroyed during hurricane katrina. there's no excuse for an inhabited house to have that kinda roach problem. That would be just plain disgusting.

Question: I've watched 3 episodes of Guinea Pig, and don't see a bunch of potential there. However, Amberlynn Walker seems pretty hit-able. So my question is, does anyone else seek out 80's porn and jerk off to that Amber Lynn?

Abby rocks. I'm pretty sure my wife knows that I've got a thing for her, which is unusual, because there aren't that many female actresses that I actually like enough that I would guess my wife has picked up on it. Abby however, is extremely cute.

I know which one you're talking about, but it's not the one I'm thinking of... it's the one where Mike goes out with the exterminator. It's some young blonde kid and they go to this trailer home where people are most assuredly living.

Yep. I know the one you're talking about, although I forget the name of the company. There WAS someone living in that trailer at the time of the bug hunt

Six foggers? Sheesh! If you can see the fog hanging in the air after the cans are empty, you've used too much.
As far as roach infestations go, foggers are pretty much useless if you haven't first flushed the bugs form their hiding places. Twenty years ago we used a chemical called Vaponite. You had to wear a respirator mask when applying this stuff, but it got'em out in the open where the insecticides and foggers could do their work.

Vexcon is the company with the punk kid exterminators. That trailer was nastier then the post-Katrina houses.

FTA: Six bug foggers detonated inside a house Monday, blasting the roof off and causing what officials called significant structural damage.

Sorry, only high explosives detonate... Flammable gases like this just burn. Not the same thing.

Technically they undergo deflagaration, which is a class of combustion right alongside detonation.

It's an air-gas mixture, very much an explosive.

2008-01-23 02:40:30 PM
Yes, but that's like saying a canoe and a cruise ship are the same because they are both boats... The point is saying bug foggers "detonated" is stupid.

2008-01-23 02:44:05 PM
Oops, looks like Kreigenstein beat me to it, and got me on the explosives don't necessarily detonate thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deflagration:
Deflagration is different from detonation which is supersonic and propagates through shock compression.

As a dedicated entomophobe, I must agree with the homeowner's method of sterilizing an infestation through the use of a blast of purging fire.

Exceptional, Jethro. Exceptional.

clear_prop: Vexcon is the company with the punk kid exterminators. That trailer was nastier then the post-Katrina houses.

I caught that episode in reruns the other day. I think it tops my list for disturbing visuals on Dirty Jobs, just slightly ahead of the company that prepares skeletons for museums and universities. It gets bonus jibblie points because of the knowledge that people were actually living in such conditions.
