2002-10-22 02:04:54 AM
I would rather watch this:

2002-10-22 02:05:06 AM
I went to a radiohead show about a year back and it WAS the best show I'd heard.. they are amazing live. Tons of energy, good crowds, none of that standard rock or hiphop star pretension bullshiat.

2002-10-22 02:05:48 AM
I like radiohead. Except when Im sad then if I listen to em Im likly to kill myself.

2002-10-22 02:05:59 AM
Radiohead is definitely one of the most overrated bands of all time.

2002-10-22 02:06:02 AM
although they're my favourite group, i don't know if they're the best act in the world. the are however, extremely talented, and very creative.

2002-10-22 02:06:05 AM
I went to see them in DC last year but it was an outdoor venue and it rained like i've never seen rain before. Flooded the field. Didn't get to see 'em play. Damn shame, hopefully they'll come to Boulder on this next tour.

2002-10-22 02:06:20 AM
Actually, I think they are so obviously the best band in the world that it's a no brainer. I'd consider them in the running for best band of all time. And their live show is unbelievable...

2002-10-22 02:07:35 AM
yup, they're kick-ass live. i saw them last year at the hollywood bowl, and it's the best show i've ever seen up to this day.

2002-10-22 02:08:24 AM
I've seen them live. Radiohead suck fat dick.

2002-10-22 02:08:51 AM
I'm rather fond of Mr. Bungle.

2002-10-22 02:10:16 AM
I like Radiohead and have every album but Amnesiac. Every album they used to put out was different from the prior one and was good in its own way. but amnesiac sounds like a sequel to kid a, which i liked after listening to it for a while; if your going to make the same album twice make it ok computer, not the most experimental one; hopefully they aren't so full of themselves and artsy that they keep doing this and become irrelevent, i miss the Radiohead that was supposed to be the second coming of Pink Floyd

2002-10-22 02:10:23 AM
Ooops, wrong tag. It was supposed to be this one:

2002-10-22 02:10:29 AM
Never make fun of Radiohead. Their fans are rabidly loyal. Almost insane like.

2002-10-22 02:11:46 AM
the reson amnesiac sounds alot like kid A is because all the tracks were recorded for kid A. the tracks on amnesiac are those that didn't make it onto kid A.

2002-10-22 02:12:34 AM
*reason

2002-10-22 02:12:58 AM
I wouldn't say best act but they still rock

2002-10-22 02:13:24 AM
Pumpkins were better in their day... but at the moment who is better... Oasis? Don't make me laugh.

U2 have released the same album about 10 times, so they don't count ummm... who else could be up there?

Tool maybe, NIN? Weezer? gah, it's too hard. But of a top 10 list in no particular order Radiohead would have to be there.

2002-10-22 02:13:27 AM
Impaler

yup, i'm rabidly loyal.

2002-10-22 02:13:54 AM
Unlikely, whoever put that tag has shiat for brains. Best band ever, no doubt.

2002-10-22 02:13:59 AM
WightLightning: Amnesiac sounds a lot like Kid A for good reason - it was made in the exact same sessions that Kid A was. Basically they spent the better part of 2 years working on new material, and by the end of it they had enough for two albums. Deciding against a double album (they hate double albums), they split it up into two seperate albums because they wanted all of the material to see the light of day.

And this is the second year running that they've won this. Hooray.

2002-10-22 02:15:33 AM
I saw them on South Park. That is about all I know of them.

2002-10-22 02:16:13 AM
Monkeu

have you heard the music from portugal/spain?

it's pretty amazing stuff, so i can't wait for the new record.

2002-10-22 02:16:16 AM
TOOL

2002-10-22 02:16:54 AM
I Lkke thm a holelot, But the Monkees ar perty gud to.

2002-10-22 02:17:04 AM
Bongohead -

to even consider Smashing Pumpkins to be in the same league as Radiohead, esp. LIVE is insulting to all who like good music. My garage band was better live than Smashing Pumpkins. Sheesh.

Long Live Radiohead!

2002-10-22 02:18:29 AM
RAWK on Radiohead!
best band in the Universe

2002-10-22 02:18:31 AM
I agree with Monkeu, where's the obvious tag when you need it?
I have to say, their music changed the way I look at the world and.. EVERYTHING. you can say they changed my life.
I'm about to frame my huge-ass poster of the band.. It's gonna cost me quite a bit of money but it's worth it..

2002-10-22 02:19:35 AM
If you farking rednecks want to spend all day talking about how much you love your sniper rifles, fine. but lay off radiohead.

2002-10-22 02:20:18 AM

Best act in the world.

2002-10-22 02:20:24 AM
Definitely disagree with the unlikely. Saw them at Molson Park, it was an incredible concert, all around.

2002-10-22 02:21:11 AM
Bull Spit..... Weird Al is the best.

2002-10-22 02:22:18 AM
WOW! Did not expect this many RH fans on here! *impressed* :D

2002-10-22 02:22:30 AM
OMG! I changed my mind. I hate them now. They suck. That new band you guys haven't heard of is way better

2002-10-22 02:23:11 AM
DarkIdol
TOOL is awesome too. number 2 in my book though

2002-10-22 02:23:47 AM
My nomination: Bela Fleck and Flecktones.

www.flecktones.com

Absolutely farking amazing band. Best banjo player ever. One of the top three living bassists. Virtuoso saxophonist. One of most innovative musicians out there right now as a drummer. Great, great show.

2002-10-22 02:24:25 AM
I enjoy Radiohead, but I have to laugh at the fans who think the music is the second coming of Christ or something.

Or think that Thom Yorke's whining about how opressed he is has some sort of depth to it.

They're not the end all be all of music, folks. Also, much of the preceding could apply to Tool.

2002-10-22 02:25:42 AM
Koldcrusher

Sure have, I have almost every show from the tour sitting on my hard drive, and about 5 different CD-Rs that were made during the course of it. I can't f-uckig wait. My favourites at the moment are There There, Wolf At The Door, and Punch Up.

Drifter:

You got that right. What I wouldn't do to get Anthony and Captain Feathersword to myself for a few days.

2002-10-22 02:26:50 AM
love radiohead. they're very experimental and cutting edge. that's what so beautiful about what they do. none of this britney and christina bullshiat.

however, there are many bands that i think are equally good, although not cutting edge. how about modest mouse? ...and you will know us by the trail of dead? wilco? dismemberment plan? beck?

2002-10-22 02:27:20 AM
Mahtar, what would you consider the end all be all?

Seriously, both Radiohead and Tool have pioneered and created NEW sounds that can actually be called art.

It's music for art's sake.

2002-10-22 02:27:30 AM
They were great till the last two albums. I can't wait till they pick up the drums and guitars again.

2002-10-22 02:28:20 AM
same here, except for the cd-rs... i'm too lazy.

as of now my top favourites from the tour are scatterbrain, myxomatosis, and we suck young blood.

2002-10-22 02:28:25 AM
El_Pres, i agree. even though i really like the last two albums, what i wouldn't give for an album like "the bends" again.

2002-10-22 02:28:37 AM
top 5 bands

Radiohead - duh
Tool - maynard and co. rock ballz
Smashing Pumpkins - too bad it's over
REM - all their stuff
Weezer - the definition of rock

pretty mainstream, fark it

2002-10-22 02:29:05 AM
ah, but do they do shots backstage?

2002-10-22 02:29:32 AM
Radiohead music speaks to the pathetic rejects, sad sacks and pretentious jackasses all across the world. It's a bad sign that they're so popular. It can only mean the general hipster population across the country has become even more angsty. Except it's not an angry angst, like grunge music, it's a sad, pathetic, sit-in-the-corner-and-cry-over-spilled-milk angst.

I spit on Radiohead and the things it has done to your mushy minds.

2002-10-22 02:29:39 AM
"to even consider Smashing Pumpkins to be in the same league as Radiohead, esp. LIVE is insulting to all who like good music. My garage band was better live than Smashing Pumpkins. Sheesh."

Not going to bother to argue with that, sorry. Tom-a-toes! Tom-Ay-Toes!

Just get a live version of mayonaise or thru the eyes of ruby and see if you can still say that... Mind you, i havent heard your garage band, so i cant actually totally say that you are not better anyway :P

2002-10-22 02:31:19 AM
About every 3 years, the list changes. Whomever is reading the magazine this week gets to pick. Greatest band ever? I don't think so. Ever heard of Pink Floyd? How 'bout Rolling Stones? Awsome stage/light shows with the energy and kick ass music to boot. Ever been to a Jimmy Buffett show? Nothing like that experience can be found anywhere else on earth. Not taking anything away from Radiohead, I have never seen them live, but will they still be putting out great sounds when they are in their 60's? Lets hope so...

2002-10-22 02:31:35 AM
the last two albums were amazing. that's what's cool about radiohead, they don't play to please everyone, but they play to please themselves.

and about the drums, phil selway has been using them. for the more complex stuff, they do use drum machines... but it's pretty hard to tell the two apart(except if they started using squarepusher type sounds, then there's no way in hell phil would be able to keep up).
