(WTMJ)   NY Giants may want to combat drunk-calling Packers fans with crazy aliases at the visitors hotel. "Hi, could I reach Eli Manning..I mean, Daffy Duck?"   (620wtmj.com) divider line 17

FTFA: NFL rules mandate that the Giants come into Wisconsin on Friday

Anybody know why this might be? I'm thinking to avoid travel problems.

This might be a stupid question, but why, in the age of cellphones, wouldn't the Giants just turn off the room phones?

Or, you know, ask the guy at the desk to hold incoming calls to their room. I'm guessing they're not exactly staying at the Red Roof, and the staff can handle it.

Visiting teams stay at the Paper Valley Hotel (in Appleton), a pretty nice hotel. I had a lot of friends that worked there growing up.

Green Bay is a bodaciously small town. Do you know the value of the snow there? It's PURE SNOW!

The town owns the team. You think that anyone can keep a "secret" there as to what rooms the players are staying in? Really?

Considering the multiple delays I had getting home from the game this weekend, it's understandable. Weather is bad, and although my delays were caused by fog in Chicago, delays in WI and that general area should be expected this time of year.

Snow has no value in GB. October through May, there are piles of it in the street!

No. Bernie Williams hates that place.

I hate that radio logo, it always make me want a Snickers and I have no change.

If only there was some way to stop a telephone from ringing. Perhaps the Giants can hire a team of engineers who could invent such a way and thus foil these wily drunk-dialing Packers fans and their elaborate intelligence networks that can determine what hotel they are staying at. Oh, those crafty, crafty drunk Packers fans.

Actually, I imagine one of the problems might be the crafty "Fire-alarm" pullers. That's actually a very effective way to inconvenience people in a hotel, since fire alarms/sprinklers are easy to reach and turn on/off.

The Cowboys had it done to them a long time ago in the playoffs.

This ought to be a fun game! I wish John Madden and Al Michaels were doing the play by play.

Anybody else read (the real) LT's auto? I'm certain he's heading up the crew on how to screw with an opposing player's head before a game.

With that info, I can't imagine the Giants falling for anything that isn't less than Pacmanish. Course, it's Wisconsin, right? So...

Me too! I'm one of the people that actually like Madden and don't mute the tv when he is on.
