What I always found funny about Sanford and Son is, if you were familiar with the cast - LaWanda Page, who played Aunt Esther, in her earlier career was a totally raunchy comedienne who sometimes made comedy albums with Redd Foxx. I remember those as being some hilarious filthy records.
Then she appears on Sanford and Son being all church lady. That show was a hoot. I'll never forget Fred Sanford says to Aunt Esther: "if they pressed your face into some dough, they could make gorilla cookies."

This episode was just on Sunday. Classic stuff.

Great stuff. I didn't know until recently that Redd Foxx actually died of a heart attack, while on the set of another show, and people didn't help him at first because they thought he was doing the old Fred Sanford shtick. Harsh!

Trailguide: "Esther, You so ugly, I could stick your face in dough and make gorilla cookies."

My favorite Fred line ever.
