No, it wasn't gleaming the cube. It was more of a cult movie, didn't get much play in the theaters. It was one of those "futuristic" movies where the world had gone to hell in a handbasket, and if you didn't skate you couldn't get away type of movies.

It could have been Rollerball (1975) but I guess I'd have to watch it again to find out.

back when I was younger and used to skate everyday i remember always shooting my board out at rollerbladers on purpose. it's one of the stupid things i did as kid that i actually don't regret one bit.
