Yes, but are Parade readers even going to notice the discrepancy?

The only thing I ever really read in Parade was Marilyn Vos Savant and the puzzles.

you read parade?

Similar thing happened with Parade about 8 or 9 years ago. The feature in the back, "In Step With..." was Gene Siskel, and he had died a few days earlier.

Um, they knew about this the day after she died and decided to go ahead with it anyhow.

Did any of you farktards read it? It's not like it was a zero of an interview.

I thought Fark was here to make fun of the **bad** parts of mass media. This hardly begins to qualify, dumbasses.

Assuming the title of the column isn't a lie, I assume the writer died a few days earlier, as well.

lol!
Oh well, the only time I've ever looked at Parade is to move it out of the way to get to the funnies.

Parade is for peoples who do not read the internet.

The day I found out Walter Scott isn't real, and all those questions are just made up to advertise current entertainment projects, it was like the sun went out in my world.

Hey! Us shut ins get the Internet!

How hard would it have been to change the cover to read, "The last interview with the tragically assassinated Ms. Bhutto"?

My Grandma loves Parade, she also poops her diaper.

We had the issue of Parade that discussed her death almost three weeks ago on UltraFark++++++++carrier lost++++++

Wasn't last week's Parade cover story "My Special Year" by Dubya?

crotchie: Did any of you farktards read it? It's not like it was a zero of an interview.

Uh yeah....we read it. It was filled with many (now) pointless postulates of what she may do with the country through her leadership, and no mention (even a pre or post interview) of her death. Pretty shiatty way to produce a magazine/insert.

Actually, vote in a Democrat, expect another attack from A-Qaeda, it's that simple. Our enemies want weak-minded dove leadership in office, they want us to believe that "peace and diplomacy" will end this conflict--it won't.

And the only way to avoid another sudden attack is to keep the current infrastructure in place, and yes that means putting another Republican in office. And no, it may not be Romney or Huckabee, each offer a little too much philosophizing in time of much-needed common sense.

We very likely will witness a dark horse candidate at the last minute who will sit on America's shoulders and ride into office, this is precisely what we would need to prevent another attack mindset.

Actually, it makes sense, they feared her so much, they killed her.
And Skookum, darling, the attack happened while imbecile boy king Dubya was in the white house, do try to keep up.
It'd sure have been nice if he had investigated Saudis instead of going to Iraq, don't you think?
Sorry, that's right, you don't.
carry on.....

This is just the very mindset that has created the problems with terrorism now. Fail.

I was going to submit it but they never posted it on J-archive: Bhutto was a question on the episode of Jeopardy! that aired the day before the assassination.

Right, 'cuz it was totally a Democrat in office back in '01. CLEARLY the current Republican leadership has HELD THEM IN CHECK.

What's this got to do with Bhutto or Parade magazine? And didn't September 11 take place on W's watch.

I noticed this today and laughed to myself. Later, I naively showed a co-worker the cover; hoping for a shared laugh at the expense of the "news". I should of known she wouldn't know who Benazir Bhutto was.

Parade should have run the article but the fact that they didn't update much of the story in light of the fact that she is now dead is the questionable decision. I know it takes time to put together things, but not referencing the tragic events and current unrest over the assasination provides the reader a partial and very flawed picture. Never assume the reader knows recent events, especially in light of the individuals we encounter on a regular basis on FARK.

Even if all they did was take a paragraph at the very beginning to stating that she was killed during the preparation of the story. I didn't see anything like that in the article I skimmed through (since I had a WTF moment when I saw it this morning). Of course maybe it was there and someone who read the complete article can tell us we are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Nice troll there. I'd give you a +1 if it weren't for the fact that a Republican was in office on 9/11.

Yeah, skookum is a common troll on the Politics page. Plays hard, neo-fascist authoritarian to rile up the people who call all Republicans neo-fascist authoritarians by giving them a strawman to waste time on.

Looks like it works on the main page too. Good trolling, sir.

I shook my head until realizing that none of my own would either. They read only Us Weekly and obsessively follow celebrity gossip. "Lindsay [Lohan]" is on a first-name basis, as though they know her on a personal level, but they could never name our Defense Secretary or even the UK's prime minister.

I've yet to see this issue of Parade in person, though I went to lunch with some family members and had my mother, of all people, laughably mention it.
