(KWTX 10 News)   Former prisoners attempt to rob banks to raise bail money for another inmate. Stunningly brilliant plan works out about as well as you'd expect from these rocket scientists   (kwtx.com) divider line 20

The funny thing is, that was the plan they deemed good enough to put into action. Just imagine the scenarios that got rejected.

I imagine it involved bodily fluids somehow.

Court records show that Cox, Jochum and Scott were all in the Tarrant County Jail in late 2007 facing child sex charges.

In all fairness they do seem to have the combined intellect of a 5 year old.

Do people still rob banks in this day and age and get away with it?

Ahh, yes. Nothing brightens my day more than an article that calls for some FAIL goodness...

Hey, you've got to go with what you know. As an engineer, if I were raising bail for a buddy I'd commit computer crime.

Reminds me of a story about 10 years ago when I was working as a 911 operator.
Kid gets busted for DUI, and as they are hauling him off to jail, he tells his sober passenger to go get the money to bail him out.
He does...robs a store to get the money. A couple hours later, the victim, at the police headquarters is filling out forms, statements etc...the desk officer is asking her for a description.....and in walks the dumbass who robbed her, attempting to post bail with the money he stole from the store. Needless to say, his plain FAILED.

Actually most bank robber's aren't caught. however on average they don't get more than a couple of thousand dollars. not worth the risk really.

Anyone else get a kick out of the pic of congress off to the side of a story about crooks?

The scheme helped them raise at least $10,000 and briefly succeeded.

There's another term for "briefly succeeded". Quickly FAILed.

/also, the glass is half empty

Rocket science really isn't that complicated anymore. If you're trying to pick a field of science that is cutting edge/complex, you should pick something like quantum physics.

Most do, so long as they know about the radio track pack in the 20's tied to bills who's serials are recorded, or the fake strap of 10's with the dye pack tied to the magnetic plate which sets off the alarm the second you remove it.

Smartest one I ever saw went down teller row taking only 50's and 100's, then walked out.

Netted about 12k total. When the cops showed up they didn't even try to pursue since he didn't take any of the tracking crap.

They just took statements and left, never heard another thing about it.

/The more you know.
