Too bad they didn't tase him.

They should send Bill on an all-expenses paid trip by rocket to the sun. Just for the duration of the election campaigns, of course.

O'Reilly says that the guy kept moving himself in front of his cameraman, apparently to purposely block them from getting a shot.

I don't like people farking with me while I'm trying to work either...

I was at the event today - saw the O'Reilly incident.

O'Reilly is an insane tool. Fortunately there were so many people with cameras there that the idiot couldn't spin it into "the Obama people attacked me at the event" type of thing.

The event itself was amazing.

2008-01-05 05:34:05 PM
I'll post pics from the event in a little while once I can get them off of the camera.

Maybe. Could this be an O'Reilly publicity stunt? Absolutely. Could an Obama worker have been farking with him and his cameraman? Of course. Both scenarios seem reasonable to me.

Since I'm sure most, if not all of the incident was caught on camera. I'll reserve judgment till I see it.

Of course, here on Fark-that's going to be a lonely position to take ;)

FTFA: "He grabbed me with both his hands here," Nicholson said, gesturing to his left arm and O'Reilly "started shoving me." Nicholson said, " He was pretty upset. He was yelling at me."

I do not care about Bill O'Reilly's publicity stunt.

He is not a journalist.

On this event, yes, let's withhold our judgment for now...on O'Reilly in general there is plenty of evidence to reach a conclusion.

That conclusion is of course that BO is a giant douche, but even they are sometimes treated rudely, so I'll reserve judgment on whether or not the enormous asshole was unfairly treated.

What's so special about Bill O'Reilly that he thinks he leave the free-speech zone and rush into Obama's protective perimeter?

2008-01-05 06:49:45 PM
O'Reilly then grabbed the staffer's arm and pushed him out of the way, calling the Obama campaign "low class". "I called him an S.O.B.," O'Reilly said.

blog.kir.com

Of course. Bill merely wanted to express amazement that Obama could speak without saying "bring me my iced tea, motherfarker!"

2008-01-05 06:51:14 PM
Well, Obama can be expecting a visit from Fox Security any day now, I'm sure.

Are you getting a kick out of these replies?

Where are the security guards with tazers when BillO is around? I would seriously pay money for that video.

Yay! O'Reilly bashing thread! You get the tar, I'll get the feathers! This is gonna be fun!

Something about the end of the holidays brings out the meltdowns. First Britney, now O'Reilly, although I must say O'Reilly's meltdown is much more personally satisfying.

Wait, does this constitute a threat to national security? I'm thinking Gitmo...

Please, G-dub administration, charge him with treason.

2008-01-05 07:09:05 PM
I kind of admire him, actually. He damn near picked a fight with a man who stands 6'8". It's retarded, but ballsy in a way only the retarded can be.

I wonder what will happen when Colbert does a parody of this?

I'd pay to see some security guy clean Bill O's clock. On camera.

O'Reilly is gigantic himself. I don't remember exactly how tall but I think he's around 6'6".

2008-01-05 07:13:24 PM
And THIS is why I have made it my New Year's resolution to stop thinking of people and referring to them in terms of "liberal" and "conservative". Because among other things, it makes you more accepting of people who are otherwise utterly contemptable douchebags under some delusion that they're on your "side".

If you're more concerned with "sides" than you are with what is right, then you were never on the right side to begin with.

Bill is awesome on somethings and if I had to stand in front of him or behind him, I would stand behind him. It takes alot of balls in this day and age to stand up for anything and then promote that you do, instead of riding the bandwagon and becoming a yes man.

I would love to see Bill get into a fight!

The libby stench is strong in this thread.

Why would they even let him in? I was on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) and the secret service screened people when President Clinton came aboard, and republicans were not allowed to the speech. How could Fox news breech the perimeter?

/Bill must be smarter than Hillary
//A lot better looking....

Aye, both scenarios sound extremely plausible. With all the cameras there, where's the video?

/would love to know which side I should be outraged at this time.

Pushing guy out of your way and leaving the press box = "standing up for" what "you do"?

By what "you do," you mean "act like a total jackass," right? 'Cause if so, I agree with you completely.

Man...it almost makes me want to listen to his show on Monday, just to hear exactly HOW he spins this.

Wait, it's the No Spin Zone, right?

I mean, I wonder what his interpretation of the events in question is going to be. I bet his story would be just about perfect to win him yet another prestigious Peabody Polk Award.

I didn't say he did something good or bad, I'll wait until the full story from all sides come out before I pass judgement. For all you know, Bill could have been civil and the guy could have told him to f**k off, who knows.

You *do* realize that Bill pretty much just elaborates on whatever the day's Republican talking points are, right? Just because he denies being a right-winger doesn't mean he's not lying.
