Cachaca - Brazil's national drink made from sugarcane. I'll have to try that sometime. I hope no innocent drinkers were killed.
Rule # 1
Never steal a man's liquor.

This is totally justified.

I can store my poison wherever I wish, can't I?

These guys stole it then, right? He didn't serve it to anyone accidently...

Ipecac, I think is how it's spelled. And that is some seriously foul stuff... just a drop of it is enough to cause a grown man to hurl almost instantly...

Well with the fact that he is going to be prosecuted I think this should have warrented an asinine tagline rather then misc. I htink Mexico has similar laws governing the containers that poison can be stored in so I guess you do not have the right to but it in cuervo. You should have the right to do what you want with your own propertly provided that it does not harm law abiding citizens. But thank god for governement (both sides unfortunately)to pass laws to save us from ourselves. This reminds me of a case a few years back when kids broke into an old ladys home and took pills in an unmarked 7 day pill storage thingie got ill and sucessfully sued for something like 300grand in damages. Oh well Viva La Government...

Pussies! We used to drink rat poison all the time. Splash a little malathion on for a refreshing cocktail.

Well the Dread Pirate Roberts built up a tolerance to Iocaine poison didn't he? This is a great idea, I should have thought of that when I was a restaurant manager. I like Mme.'s idea too, a little bit less drastic.

I would have put the laxitive that Jim Carrey used in Dumb & Dumber in it.
That is funny stuff.

Legman - If you have a Fogo de Chao restaurant near you, you can get some of this stuff. It's pretty good, sort of halfway between a margarita and a gin and tonic. Lots of lime.

Mmmm caipirinhas.

Caipirinha
---------------------------------

Ingredients:
2 tsp granulated Sugar
1 Lime (8 Wedges)
2 1/2 oz Cachaca

Mixing instructions:
Muddle the sugar into the lime wedges in an old-fashioned glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour the cachaca into the glass. Stir well.

Alternative:
Add 1 tsp rat poison.
Drink.
Die.

The beautiful thing about caipihrinhas is that you can't taste the alcohol. The unfortunate thing is that you can't taste the rat poison, either.

If I were on his jury, I'd aquit him. I would've done the exact same thing.

how easy is it for customers to steal alchohol from a bar?

it must have been left in an area which would be normal for the bottles to be, like a storeroom or under the bar, or wherever they keep the back up liquor. they probably ran out and an employee busted out with a new bottle in order to continue serving the customers.

the guy should hang.

It's been a while since I've seen that movie, but if I remember correctly, it was called "Turbo-Lax" or something to that effect... the name alone had me laughing...

Now when I waters the workers' beer
I puts in strychnine
Some methylated spirits
And a can of kerosine
But such a brew so terrible strong
Might make 'em terrible queer
So I reaches me hand for the watering-can
And I waters the workers' beer

it's not really that simple. it's like if i thought somebody had been stealing from my house and so i go out on my roof and start blasting off a shotgun. a bunch of people die, and you say, "the people who were stealing from meat are dead." uh-uh. that's not how it works.

2001-08-02 12:05:14 AM
How do we know the ones that died were the ones that were stealing? Maybe it was an accident and he killed the wrong people.

2001-08-02 01:03:59 AM
that's what i'm saying.

The man might as well go to jail. I can't imagine him being successful at his business. Last time I checked, I believe it was considered poor form to poison your customers. Grandaddy always told me when somebody steals something, the victim usually is somewhat at fault, too.
