"ever present danger of death or dismemberment due to faulty handling"....exectly what I want with my refreshing beverage.
2002-10-17 06:54:32 PM
now you can shrink your nuts even faster!
2002-10-17 06:55:37 PM
EEEWWWWW, I'll take the crab juice.
2002-10-17 06:55:56 PM
Great, just what we need, one more Darwinian Enforcement Mechanism.
2002-10-17 06:56:10 PM
whats the muzzle velocity?
2002-10-17 06:56:10 PM
i can see me knocking someone in the head with one of those guns. It would probably make a nice *ping* sound!
2002-10-17 06:57:02 PM
This is for real right? I guess it's time to upgrade from the old potato gun.

I can just imagine the headlines...
2002-10-17 06:57:23 PM
Didn't Maude Flanders get killed with something similar to this?
2002-10-17 06:57:54 PM
Is it just me or is that a damn confusing headline?
2002-10-17 06:57:55 PM
Looks like a hoax to me. Does anyone know anything about this "Birdman Weapons Systems"?
2002-10-17 06:58:54 PM
i was just gonna say that Andonbray. BTW, have you seen the other stuff they have? A 9mm telephone gun?!
2002-10-17 06:59:46 PM
This is so from Maximum Overdrive.
2002-10-17 07:00:48 PM
I'm pretty sure this is a humour site. But I did hear that someone tried making a 300 round UZI magazine after this site came up with the idea.
2002-10-17 07:01:26 PM
I may have answered my own question:

The Single-shot cell phone supposedly weighs 7.3 ounces, and can be fired by calling it.
2002-10-17 07:01:29 PM
When i first read the headline, i thought there was some street sweeper that was shooting at unopened mountain dew cans as he drove by.
2002-10-17 07:02:41 PM
Birdman Weapons Systems, also known to those in the know as BWS, is totally real! They even got featured on NBC Nightly News for their controversial HoMeBoY NiTeSiTeS. Check it out! Their other products are fantastic!

I'm wondering how people can spend so much time on fark and still not recognize a bad photoshop when they see it.

2002-10-17 07:03:12 PM
Another hapless idjit zinged by! ;)

Don't feel bad. It happened to an entire city government at one point.

It's all fake. It's just a parody of the way anti-gunners view firearms enthusiasts.
2002-10-17 07:03:21 PM
If you look at the cans in the gun, you can see how poorly photoshopped it is.
2002-10-17 07:03:57 PM
Pssst... Birdman Weapon Systems is a hoax site run by a teenage kid. The funny thing is that a couple of law enforcement agencies freaked about his side-mounted night sites and started raising a storm before they got the joke.
2002-10-17 07:03:57 PM
I want one! TO THE EXTREME!
2002-10-17 07:04:29 PM
Mountain Dew tastes so much like... Sprite mixed with real dew and some lime added.. It's not really great.

I heard it keeps you awake, but I like sleeping.

AVENGER! Hand me my personal digital assistant......How do you make a T with this thing?
2002-10-17 07:06:01 PM
I thought Mountain Dew had sponsored a street sweeping vehicle with advertising decals, which ran over a case of Mountain Dew and starting spitting them out the back at deadly speeds.
2002-10-17 07:06:22 PM
Uhm, yeah, it's pretty much satire.

Check out the Homeboy Night Sights.

2002-10-17 07:09:39 PM
This is legit - Just like the Bonsai Kitten site and that other site that sells human flesh, and just about any news site that is covering either the Sniper, or the impending Iraq invasion.
2002-10-17 07:10:31 PM
Mountain Dew is very popular in the South for some reason.
2002-10-17 07:14:08 PM
I've got an older model Glock. I wonder if the HoMeBoY nite sites would work for me? They kick ass!
2002-10-17 07:14:46 PM

Yeah, I never have figured that out. I've lived in Alabama my whole life and can't stand the taste of any yellow beverage but it seems like every woman I know drinks the stuff.

p.s. beer doesn't fall under the heading of yellow beverage>, it's not a beverage, it's a way of life.
2002-10-17 07:15:47 PM
Doh!!! stupid </i>. My bad.

This story from my youth is for real:
The rifle range instructor at the scout camp I attended growing up had a cannon. It wasn't just a little cannon, the thing rode on a trailer behind his car. It used black powder, and was bored soda can sized. The projectiles were soda cans filled with your choice of things, concrete worked well. He used to fire the thing off every morning for revele (sp?), but he just used toilet paper rolls as wadding when the kiddies were there. They were shot into the lake. On the weekends when he knew no one was downrange he would fire it with real projectiles. The camp had a lake with the main part of camp on one end and the pacific intertie electric transmission lines on the other. He once fired a plastic yoyo out of the thing, which caught on fire and headed across the lake and up over the power lines, which was the last it was seen still heading upward. It took a maximum load of at least 6 ounces of powder, I forget the exact amount, but I would love to have one like it!

Proper beer isn't yellow. It's either very dark gold or brown.

Mountain Dew cannon? Sounds more like something we'd see on those funny 7-up commercials...
2002-10-17 07:27:14 PM
The proper color for beer is black.

I've actually gotten to the point where I prefer stouts. I guess that's a throwback to my college days drinking whatever was cheapest on the shelf.
2002-10-17 07:28:23 PM
Mountain Dew is popular nowhere. Except in junior highs and Taco Bells.

Don't drink the yellow beer, its the "after" beer.

I figured you guys would have known about this site long before I signed up on Fark. This particular "weapon" has been in the site for well over a year. I remember giggling about it way back then. BTW for those of you who think this is a legit site check out the nuke pistol and other crazy goodies.
2002-10-17 07:32:26 PM
I wonder if these will be marketed in the DC area...
2002-10-17 07:32:27 PM
Hey Young_Fart:

I figured all the mad hip crazy kids would "Do The Do." Especially up around Monte Sano (sp?). I used to spend a little time up that way.
