The idiots in the square states wouldn't vote for a Democrat in the first place, so no skin off Hillary's or Obama's nose.

Stop talking about politics. This thread should be about gratuitous sex talk. You people can be so boring sometimes.

How is he doing in the Myspace arena?

philotech: There is Ron Paul and Everyone Else running for president right now. Kucinich or however you spell his name is not bad, but has no support. Like others have said above, if you strip the wedge issues, all of the idiots, Democrat and Republican, are all exactly the same. Stay the Course, Nuke Iran, Destroy the sovereignty of America, Destroy the Currency, and let Illegal do whatever they want.

Personally, I dislike this line of reasoning for two reasons. The first is that wedge issues constitute differences between parties. Of course if you strip them away the parties will look more alike. The second is that "exactly the same" is a hyperbole. There are differences. Are they both big government? Most definitely. But they want to put money in different places. I think you'll find a harder line on Iran amonst the Republicans as well; however, the Democrats aren't taking the opposite position (for the most part).

It seems that your problem isn't that they are the same, it's that they aren't different enough FOR YOU. That doesn't mean they are the same, though. Honestly, they aren't different enough for me, either. I don't really care for most of the candidates. I think this has to do more with a two party system... the fringes don't get enough representation. The two parties have to stay close to the middle in order to get enough votes, and compared to the fringe, the two central parties do look very similar.

Note: I don't see anyone else talking about who they support... I know alot of people that currently support whatever Democrat wins, which is the path of the true american slave.

As opposed to those who follow whomever wins the Republican nomination. In which case it's the path of the true "american"...what?

If you vote, you have done your civic duty.
If you don't vote but aren't in prison either, you've done most of your civic duty.
If you jump up and down and call whomever else votes names and say they love being sodomized by terrorists because they didn't vote for the guy you voted for, then you're following the path of the American slave.

Seriously people, the world won't end with any of these dopes being elected, no matter how much you jump and scream to the contrary.

Eventually, Iowa and New Hampshire, which holds the first primary, reached an accord that cemented their one-two placement on the nominating calendar, which has been recognized by the national political parties and, more importantly, those seeking the White House

Well Iowa has strong support for that, for the bigger reason you would have to move one state to the right and visit Archer Daniels Midland Corporate headquarters.

Beat me to it. We're a swing state. Not that our minuscule electoral votes matter come election time.

That said, I'm really genuinely curious -- where are all the Ron Paul threads today? I thought there'd be at least one really good Paul flame war on the first actual voting day of the season...

At the very mention of Ron Paul, I lost my woody.

I just heard there's a caucus tonight in a farking BAR! That is just about the coolest (read: only cool) part of the whole political process I have heard so far.

Think it's too late to go sign up as an Iowa democrat?

durbnpoisn: Here is the unpopular thought for the day.

There is only one way the Democrats can lose this upcoming election. And that would be to put up someone that can't win.
So what do they do? They put up 2 people that can NEVER win this election.

In MY personal opinion, either one is FAR more qualified than Bush. But the idiots in the square states will NEVER vote for anything but a white Christian man.

The country just isn't ready for that.

It's a shame. Because it's true.

Your opinion =/= Truth.

Obama is qualified to run for office. Not for much else.
Hillary is the epitome of a politician. Not a leader.

Republicans have nothing to offer other than names and figureheads. No real leaders.

Try voting for an independent. Not a waste of a vote.
It's the only REAL way to change the system.
Left and right wingers have brainwashed you into believing otherwise.

durbnpoisn: WayneKerr: Like it really matters who wins. Good luck with your fair and balanced, electronic voting fraud, USA.

I was talking with my 9-year old son last night... He asked, "How'd Bush get elected anyway?"

I had to answer something like, "Well, he didn't really. He kinda stole the election. The first time, his brother was the Governor of the state in question, and he literally and ILLEGALLY handed the election to Bush. Gore won that election, yet Bush came out on top."

Then I went on to explain that he simply cheated the second time.

Seriously folks... He should have been put in jail by now for the crap he's pulled.

Wow. 8 years later and you're still wearing your tinfoil hat?

Your facts. Please check them.
