"lol, do the Browns have the same thing in their rental contract?"

nawww, as long as they keep beating the "you don't live in cleveland" boys, they'll be safe.

and before you go getting on couch, two words, akili smiff.

If it's BROWN flush it DOWN!!!
Mike Brown sux a$$.

That is all.
2002-10-17 02:45:47 PM
Sources reported today that the Bengals suck. In other breaking news, the world appears to be round.
2002-10-17 02:51:30 PM
Looks like a lot of Bengals fans go to the game dressed like green seats
2002-10-17 03:00:25 PM
I think it was Mark Twain who said that if the world were about to end, he'd move to Cincinnati, where everything happens 10 years later.

Kinda like noticing that the Bengals suck.
2002-10-17 03:04:01 PM
Maybe they need a little confidence
2002-10-17 03:04:58 PM
However much you want to talk about the Bengals sucking - and they certainly are abysmal - how do you think I feel as a Lions fan?

At least the Bengals have been to two Super Bowls.

The Lions have ONE win in the playoffs since 1957.
2002-10-17 03:05:07 PM
It won't work. Mike Brown wouldn't have signed a contract that wasn't 100% in his favor. He wouldn't know a football player from a peanut vendor but he knows contracts and knows how to make money. The Bengals will continue to be pathetic laughing stocks until he has a moment of clarity and realizes that he needs to hire a G.M. and have a real scouting department (not the coaches going to a couple college games after the NFL season is over). Maybe he could stop for gas in Maryland...
2002-10-17 03:05:09 PM
Oh God, why am I so cursed!

I'm a firm believer that you declare your favorite sports teams during childhood, and you're not allowed to change your favorites....ever!!

My favorite pro football team: the Bengals
My favorie college football team: Kentucky

But noone will EVER be able to say I was a fair weather fan!
2002-10-17 03:07:59 PM
They should boot the Bengals out of town, bring in an expansion team (ala Houston and Cleveland) and start over with a non-Brown owner.

Cincinnati is a great football town, I was at a high school game that had a crowd in the 30,000's. We just need someone who gives a fark to run a team
2002-10-17 03:13:28 PM
You would be fine if Cincinnati and Kentucky had been your college basketball choices...
2002-10-17 03:16:59 PM
As far as Kentucky isn't that the one with the "pillsbury throwboy" as quarterback (thats the nick he says he likes)
I though that he was meant to be doing pretty well, saw him on Best Damn a few days ago.. is there a chance he could go pro.
Just seeing him in those clips was scary, he could run over the defence himself
2002-10-17 03:17:33 PM
I hope the Brewers have the same contract. I can't stand the thought of paying a stadium tax month after month.
2002-10-17 03:18:16 PM
"the "you don't live in cleveland" boys" were one of the best teams ever.

These Cincinnati Bengals are Mike Brown's Bengals, not Paul Browns. Mike Brown is an atrocity to humankind, a non-sporting sportsman using and abusing the rules intended to develop parity in football as a means for increased income.

Did you know there is a "Mike Brown Rule" for usage of shared-revenue? Yep. You actually have to spend it on the team now. Brown used to pocket large chunks of it.

Now the new stadium is bringing in extra money, but it doesn't appear that he is spending it on the team [which I think is the stolid basis of P's argument].

I wish someone could provide #'s for that [before revenue vs spending and current revenue vs spending].

farking Corey Dillon deserves to be traded. He is too good of a back to be lost in this miserable management.

I watched part of the game on Sunday and it was depressing.

I'm a Bengals fan since 1979 or so. The last 10 years have been tough, this year seems worse than ever because we [the fans, not the "we" me and the team shiat] have seen improvement over the last three years and that cocksucker still won't bring in quality coaching and scouting that could get them out of these god damned doldrums.

Yep, I keep swearing I will some time change following teams... but I can't.

And Cincinnati is a great football town.
2002-10-17 03:21:33 PM
Did Dick LaBeau jump in the Ohio river like he said he would?
2002-10-17 03:23:25 PM
Icy_one, what mark twain said is true.

the worst part about all this is that hamilton county commissioner john dowlin (quoted in story) performed my wedding. it, uh, didn't work out too well either.

and cincinnati is a great football town, i agree. it'll come back once they get a team.
2002-10-17 03:27:08 PM
The Benglas will suck until "[Mike Brown] has a moment of clarity and realizes that he needs to hire a G.M. and have a real scouting department ...."

As long as Mike Brown lives, that will never happen. The Bengals could go 0-16 this year, but that will only convince him that his "system" will work. He will continue to run the show . . . poorly.
2002-10-17 03:27:22 PM
Kentucky is my favorite college basketball team, too. I have no complaints about basketball. I guess it compensates for the football disappointment.
2002-10-17 03:29:05 PM

I don't think you can honestly blame the coaching staff -- LeBeau has been a success everywhere he's been except in the head slot in Cinci.

I don't think he's the problem.

Brown is the number one problem.

The number 2 problem is whoever is making personnel decissions, which isn't LeBeau from what I can see . . .
2002-10-17 03:33:30 PM
Did LeBeau jump in the Ohio River? No, because he was only going to jump if the Bengals WON!

I've been a Bengal fan since the day I was born. My family has had season tickets since the days they played at Nippert (before Riverfront Stadium)!

In the last 12 years of losing, I have never seen a city so pissed off. We used to laugh about the Bungles. But this year, it's just not funny anymore.

I hope Mike Brown gets publicly flogged by all the bad press, and I hope this lawsuit has some sort of leg to stand on. That would be faaaaaaaan-tastic.

I hate Mike Brown. Not only has he sucked the life out of the players and fans of this fair city, he's a disgrace to the league and to professional football.

I encourage everyone to visit and check out the message boards. There's a lot of hatred there towards Mike Brown.
2002-10-17 03:36:11 PM
All the Bengals fans need to do something to get that poor-excuse for a retard Mike Brown out of town. He's a farking loser douche-bag and it shows.
2002-10-17 03:37:04 PM
Why does the Ben Maller website always take so long to load?
2002-10-17 03:44:31 PM
You're right. Tigers cannot and should not play football. Back to the extinction list.
2002-10-17 03:49:09 PM
Could be worse. I've been a Bills fan my whole life. Look in the 7th collegiate editions Webster's under choke, see the picture of the Bills helmet. What really sucks is that the newer editions show the Sabers as well.
2002-10-17 03:52:23 PM
Did I log onto Fark.Ohio today by accident?
2002-10-17 04:12:56 PM
The Bengals may suck, but that Susanna Hoffs sure is a cutie.
2002-10-17 04:18:07 PM
DoubleGGuy: You and I share the same burden and the same philosophy. I grew up in Mt. Clemens and Lansing in the late 60's/early 70's, and was there and then tattoo'd with Lions Blue.

My wife used my unnatural commitment to the Lions to prove that I could commit to something... ANYTHING... before agreeing to marry me.

I feel for true, dyed-in-the-wool Bengals fans, particularly because they actually make me feel pretty good about the Lions.
2002-10-17 04:23:16 PM
Try this: I've been a Bengals fan my whole life, I'm talking Die Hard. Then I moved down here to Dallas in time for the Cowboys Dynasty during which the Bengals Sucked. I told all my buddies These things are cyclical, someday the Bengals will be good and the cowboys would suck.

For the past 3 years I'd seen the Bengals improving and the Cowboys getting worse and had begun to gloat to my friends about how they had a decade or so of crappy teams to watch and then this year rolls around.

It looks like the Cowboys only get 1 year of true crappiness before returning to respectability while the bengals can only sniff a reasonable record.

My Grandfather has been a die hard way longer then I have (The guy still drafts all Bengals in our fantasy football league). I was talking to him the other day and he said he was considering becoming a Colts fan! It's really pretty sad, the cities tried their hardest to stick by a team for so long and they don't get anything in return.
2002-10-17 04:32:21 PM
Just like the Indians in Major League
2002-10-17 04:45:48 PM
Mike Brown's system for picking players, for those that don't know: Names in a hat.
2002-10-17 04:47:02 PM
Finally something to use to bring down the mighty Peter Angelos! Come on O's fans let's rally together!
2002-10-17 04:47:14 PM
How different would life be in bungleland if they had stopped the 49ers drive in Super Bowl XXIII?

nevermind, they would still suck.

of course with just one win, they would then be as good the Vikings and Lions and Rams.

Oh well, Its times like these its great to be a Packer fan
2002-10-17 04:56:03 PM

There are more people on the field THAN IN THE STANDS!
2002-10-17 05:02:21 PM
What are they talking about? There's a competitive team at every Bengals home game...well, except whenever the Lions come to town.
2002-10-17 05:24:17 PM
pro football is gay
2002-10-17 05:27:29 PM

I didn't mean to infer that Lebeau is at fault.

He was burdened with the same p.o.s. coaching staff that
Coslet had and that Shula had.

Al Roberts = worst special teams coach.
Ken Anderson = great QB, shiat QB teacher.

Jim Anderson is a good RB coach. Bengals have always had very good backs, even during these tough times.
Duffner is a good coach.
Up in the air on Krumrie.

Seems that the defense watched the offense not even try and caught the 'it's not worth the effort' bug.

[Actually, that isn't fair. So many of the points are set up by horrible field position given by the O-turnovers and poor special teams.]
2002-10-17 05:42:17 PM
Mike Brown Step Down!!!
2002-10-17 07:16:05 PM
Odd fact: Cincinatti Bengals appear in more players highlight reels than any other team. This is of course because anyone playing against the bengals looks good.

I'm 3000 miles from "home" now, but I still try to catch every Bengals game.

I think its time for a bengals drinking game, fumbles are 2 shots, interceptions are 2, blown super simple 3rd down turnovers 1 shot, new starting QB 2 shots, every time the opponent scores 1 shot (can't go higher than that, or people will die from alchohol poisioning).
2002-10-17 08:05:26 PM

Whoa that was a great site man!

I can say nothing that hasn't already been said by every other Bengals fan here. Only that I cringe with the shame of a prostitute being asked what she does for a living (and being honest) when someone asks what my favorite NFL team is.

I got laughed at by a Lions fan for Christ's sake!
2002-10-18 12:54:27 AM
Hey, are you pissed off at the idea of paying stadium tax? Hold on to your farking hat. All the companies that buy stadium boxes, and all the people who claim thier tickets as a business expense get HALF of their money back, written off on their income tax. We all pay more tax to make up for the BILLIONS of dollars these RICH bastards get refunded while working class folks can barely afford to take family to the game once a year. The NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB and CFL (Canadian football league) would crumble if the IRS and Revenue Canada both changed this policy. The salaries the players make would have to come down to realitic levels, and the prices of tickets would have to come down to attract poorer fans to fill the seats.
