Fugazi rules.

Wilco rules.

Ryan Adams rules.

That's all. Carry on.

i was at this concert monday night. i also read that he did this same thing at a Detroit show. I think he's such a great song writer, but his attitude is a little hard to swallow. here's the local paper's take:

I was at a Cake concert at the Fillmore a few years ago and some punk threw beer on the stage and hit the guitarist. They stopped, & ordered the crowd to point out the idiot who threw the beer. The crowd gleefully complied. They had security bring the guy up to the front. Singer guy gave him a maraca and said, "here's a maraca, now get the fark out of here." and security threw him out.

sorry for getting on the boat so late. word from ra's manager is that this is a deliberate hoax on his part. i don't know what to think of this. if true - it's sort of funny, but still i think he's a creep. newport56 is my hero.

Yep, I'm late too...

Boxcar1: As a professionally paid musician, I gotta take issue with your comments. When folks like Adams get up on stage to headline a concert, they are entertainers first, musicians second.

Yeah, it may burn his musician's pride a bit to hear those endless jokes. But as an entertainer, he should find his sense of humor, and do whatever it takes to broaden his audience appeal. In other words, suck it up, do his job (entertaining), and do it well.

Behaving like an insecure asshat onstage gains him notoriety, to be sure, but could backfire on his career in the long run.
