From TFA: "The newspaper's Web site allows readers to type in a name and state to determine whether a person is in the database. The list provides no other information than a date of birth to confirm an identity."

What, they want SOC SEC numbers and home address, too?

breitbart.com sucks balls. All links to text adds. Where the fark is the link to the original article they whored their story from.

If you navigate the article and then head over to the Sarasota Hearld-Tribune's page, there's a pretty good read. But, like Breitbart, not organized very well.

One of the articles details a 47yr old teacher who seduced and married a 16yr old student and then brought her to the school Prom. The guy's complete lack of shame is summarized in the last line of the article - "She seduced me, I'm the victim here."

Yeah-- the proper way to support them is standing, hands under her buttocks, her knees lifted to about your waist height with her back against a wall.

I wonder if the teacher I got fired is on the list. Wish I could remember his name. Never piss off the nerds in the class, and then give the AV teacher an incriminating video tape to edit.

No really-- that is the proper way to support them.

Alternately there are some pretty elaborate strap systems, but I personally find those too clinical. It takes all the romance out of the shagging.

All the links thus far have been for Florida only. The closest thing I've seen to the "national" database mentioned was a column of states with numbers beside each state.

Well, I can name at least two teachers fired for sexual misconduct in recent memory who aren't on this list. I guess it's not entirely comprehensive.

Best quote:

Clyde Sperring, former principal at Suwannee High School, said he launched vigorous investigations into his band teacher in the early 2000s.

But until law enforcement got involved years later, Sperring said he felt he had to believe his teacher, Jason Hilliard, over the girls who accused him of sexual harassment.

"It's not like they were that attractive," Sperring said during an interview last month. "You had to wonder why would he do it."

No details with the names? Christ, some poor guy could be on that list for missing payments on his student loan, and the local readers are going to assume he's banging cheerleaders.

2007-12-21 05:40:46 PM
Glad to see my uncle isn't on that list.

And I'd heard rumors about a friend from high school who went into teaching, glad to see she isn't there either.

Okay, okay, I might as well get my side of the story out there now that everything is all public. First of all, our school's athletic teams' name is the Rams, okay? So that explains the sheep I had in my office--I thought it'd be nice if we had a mascot.

Moving on, I admit it looks bad that I asked the shop teacher to help me make a child-sized X-frame with tilt and swivel motion and five-point leather restraints. But I paid for those materials OUT OF POCKET and I have the receipts to prove it. And frankly since the one "seventh-grader" who ever got anywhere near it turned out to be an adult female cop, I don't even see how I've done anything wrong. If anything, she violated my trust.

Sexual misconduct - sure. But if we're going to PUBLISH a list of fired teachers, why not a list of everyone who has ever been fired anywhere for anything, e.g. crummy mechanics, useless electricians, disbarred lawyers, and carpet cleaners who don't get the stains out. The one fellow's comment is correct - goodbye list.

Thank you. I feel somewhat better knowing that the social studies teacher I always wanted to bone apparently wasn't handing out hummers in the broom closet.

Newspaper reporters and editors frequently cover up their molestation of children? Who knew?

Then I will expect the teachers will have the same access to the parents' criminal records in return, so you can see that Johnny can't learn because mom is a lady of the evening and dad is a crack selling jailbird.

Way back in HS, one of my teachers got busted for banging the whole football team... I should check and see if her name is on the list...

/I'd have done her
//Even after I found out about the football team
///But then, I had band chicks and long minimally-supervised trips

I think I've found Michigan's problem. Apparently we are hiring 3 year olds as teachers.

Hmmm, this'll probably just lead to every student who reads that paper to get suspended from school. Or would that be every student who reads? Either way, that's one hell of an education system you're running down there.
