What about HBO's "Tell Me You Love Me".

A bunch of naked people in therapy. Talk about boring. Why watch on TV what you can do at home!

Spaghetti Eatin' Goombah: What!! No Cavemen. Who writes this stuff.

You beat me to it. I gave Cavemen a fair shot. Watched it three times. Most boring and wasted hour and 1/2 of my life.. sad sad sad.....

2007-12-20 10:05:44 AM
I never heard of any of them. I don't watch too much TV. I did see about 10 minutes of Caveman, so I wonder why it is not on this list.

Me enjoyed Cavemen.

Me also likey John from Cincinnati.

There is nothing on TV that is even remotely watchable with the possible exception of sports programming, Comedy Central, Anthony Bourdain, Alton Brown, and "How It's Made".

Maybe they should change "Hey Paula" to follow Paula Poundstone. At least it would be funny.

I agree that Flash Gordon is simplistic, over the top, has horrible special effects, bad acting, etc. Yet it's a guilty pleasure. GUILTY. Those other shows I've never seen so I can't comment on them, but since Dancing with the Stars is omitted, I can't give it much creedence.

/not a professional critic, duhhhrrrrr

Anything that I don't watch.

Caveman not listed? Boooo

I TRIED to like Flash Gordon.
I WANTED to like Flash Gordon.

I finally gave up and deleted all the rest of the eps off my DVR.. knowing I couldn't stomach watching them.

Nope, and the lister seems to confuse lack of longevity with lack of quality. A couple years ago, I bet you Firefly would have been on that list. Lister FAILS.

My favorite new show of 2007? Burn Notice. Can't freakin' wait for Season 2.

Caveman is an unforgivable oversight.

But I gotta say that Back to You was a tremendous disappointment. No amount of "star power" can keep a shiatty program afloat.

2007-12-20 10:29:51 AM
Flash Gordon sucks. Too bad, as I could see how it could have been cool if every single thing about it was done differently from how Sci Fi did it (with the exception that the inclusion of several hot chicks is A-OK as a creative decision).

Jonny Wilkinson
Nope, but the first episode probably could've/should've stood alone as a made-for-TV-movie type thing. I liked that first episode but I lost interest a couple of shows in.

2007-12-20 10:31:10 AM
What about that Frank TV, watched that once and didn't laugh at all.

Why do people assume it's funny to impersonate unfunny people?

2007-12-20 10:32:10 AM
30 Rock. Tina 'scarface' Fey is not funny.

Absolutely not! Loved it. After they cancelled it, I still watched new episodes every week on the NBC website. I heard another network picked it up, but haven't seen anything further.

Cavemen sucked and never should have been broadcast. I knew it from the time I heard ABC was talking with GEICO about it. The GEICO commercials were amusing at first, but only at first.

You are correct. The first episode was a lot better than the rest of the series. However, I still found the rest to be entertaining. And I would still rather watch it than most of the other crap currently on, especially any of the reality shows.

Just checked and....no, sorry, they are no longer up. They did the full season (I want to say around 15 episodes). I am seriously hoping to see it on DVD.

Definitely agree on October Road. That show is horrible. My wife and I watched the first episode or two because the premise looked okay. It's like they designed a show that intended its audience to be GenXers, but ramped up the cheeseball/sentimental effect so that the only people who would like it are those over the age of 60. Fail.

2007-12-20 10:37:18 AM
Oh..
And does anyone else think that the main character from the Black Donnelly's looks like the kind of person who spits a lot when he talks?

Loved that show. Farkin' NBC cancels all the good stuff. Hell, can't trust network TV anyway. And FARK ALL THE CRAPPY NEW REALITY SHOWS we'll have to deal with until this damn strike is over.

/yes, I watch entirely too much TV
//time for a Netflix account

I, for one, love broad generalizations from those with rigid tastes. When you pull your head out of your ass, be sure to check out:

Dexter
Weeds
Brotherhood
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Wire
30 Rock
The Office
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Friday Night Lights
The Shield
Rescue Me
Mad Men
Battlestar Galactica
Reaper

You're very welcome. Just talked about this with a guy in the office and we both agree that we're buying it.

30 Rock? Really? Not trying to be a dick, but what do watch that you think is funny? 30 Rock consistently brings the ha-ha's, for me at least.

A friend of mine was in the cast of John from Cincinnati, so I'm probably a little biased in thinking it wasn't that bad.

But, damn, ouch.

Most of that is not ever real TV, it's cable. If you can't pick it up with an antenna, it's doesn't count.
