This is a typical news article...

2007-12-19 10:23:18 AM

Police say the white Bonneville hit the red van spinning that van completely around and a third car narrowly missed.

Good job, writer and/or editor.

With a headline like that, I was expecting a drunk snowboarder faceplanting in a snowbank. The reality of the article wasn't all that funny.

headline + article - beer = subby fails

2007-12-19 10:25:33 AM
gregory311: No mention of alcohol in article + ordinary story = subby fails.

FTFA: "We have reports that one car was all over the roadway, we don't necessarily know what that means at this point, but that's why we're investigating," says Eric Tamashasky, with the fatal alcohol crash team.

Snow is excellent for chilling your beers in a hurry. Driving all over the roadway (or dying) is Not. Cool.

Also, zero mention of snow as a cause or aggravating influence.

OK read TFA
"It's too early right now for factors involved in the accident. We have reports that one car was all over the roadway, we don't necessarily know what that means at this point, but that's why we're investigating," says Eric Tamashasky, with the fatal alcohol crash team.

Subby is a retard

Precisely. I'm not saying that the very few things I submit are uproariously funny, but the absolute tripe that does get green-lit is proof that there's got to be some inside shiat going on.

Alcohol investigators ALWAYS investigate fatal traffic accidents, whether alcohol was involved or not. The article made no mention whatsoever that alcohol was involved. You fail too. Go sit in the corner with subby.

Well, it reads like it is a straight transcript of whatever they read on the air that night--thus the one line paragraphs. Seems like a lot of these stations don't realize that copy for your TV reporters reads at about a third-grade level in print.

The only problem with that beer is that its name is somewhat difficult to pronounce correctly. Really good stuff.
