Yes, because condemning someone for cheating on their wife is much worse than sending 3,000+ soldiers to their deaths, killing 80,000+ Iraqis, and destabilizing an entire region that in the long run will cost the US nearly $3 trillion.

Priorities. Let me show you them.

rush_limbaugh_sent_me: andrew131: rush_limbaugh_sent_me: I'm not a big fan of Newt and it mostly has to do with his personality. He doesn't sell well, comes across as a little arrogant, and for some insane reason he likes to suck up to Hillary Clinton and then attacks conservatives who criticize him for it. What does he expect? :) I was relieved when he announced he wasn't running. Personality matters as lot in elections...just ask Kerry and Gore. :)

Yeah, he's a great guy for handing his wife divorce papers on her death bed.

Newt isn't on the ballot. If he was, I wouldn't be supporting him. Your lame attempt accusing me of hypocrisy isn't going to work. I'm not defending Newt's affair. You guys seem to be defending Edward's affair and to make it even worse his wife has cancer. Your smarmy mumbling about "everybody cheats" isn't a very good defense of Edwards actions. :)

Nah, 1/10.

Anybody want to make a list of the candidates they think have or have not cheated on their spouse? Here's mine:

Have:
Rudy Giuliani (nearly a matter of public record)
Hillary Clinton (oh come on, after all that philandering Bill did who wouldn't get lonely)
John Edwards (I'll buy it)
Mitt Romney (although he may be married to the other one too)

Have not:
Mike Huckabee (too scared of the hellfire)
Barack Obama (he's young, give it time)
Dennis Kucinich (why bother, he's never going to top that)

SeismicJizzer: rush_limbaugh_sent_me: Not to mention she has cancer. Cheating on your wife when she has cancer that appears to be untreatable...liberals see nothing repulsive about that.

It's ironic that Edwards slams and demonizes Republicans while her sleazy husband is cheating on her.

and I approve this message!

Hey there bud, I didn't say "everybody cheats," I'm just stating you should put things in perspective.

Bad marital affairs doesn't indicate how you're going to run the office of the president. If that's the case should Giuliani run?

Every body has it all wrong. This will blow over, Hillary and Edwards will kiss and make up, she will get the nomination and pick him as her running mate. They will win in November, we all get numbers tatooed on our foreheads, the apocalypse occurs, and all live happily ever after.

/What? You don't think a Clinton/Edward ticket would be good for the country? I'm shocked - shocked - at your lack of faith.

That is one of the main problems with you Libs. Why can't it be disgusting and immoral that John Edwards cheated on his Cancer Ridden Wife, without some whiny comment about the War on Terror that President Bush is winning?

Seriously, let it go. They have nothing to do with each other. This incident is more akin to what Bill Clinton did when he got Blowjobs and Butthole Licking from Monica Lewinsky.

This is funny. All of a sudden the right-wingers are dropping all of their Hillary hate to gang up on Edwards, who up until now has been in third place. I'm betting a poll is coming out tomorrow showing a big surge for Edwards, and this will be revealed for the desperate preemptive strike it is.

Unless all of you right-wing fags want to man up now and admit that you consider National Enquirer a reliable source.

I don't think that I said his affair had anything to do with how he would be as president. Guilina has executive experience as mayor of a city largest than many states. Edwards was a ambulance chaser. He's a socialist that supports high unfair taxation and forcing people into a government run healthcare system. I know what kind of president he will be based on his socialist rhetoric and the fact he's never run anything.

My point wasn't about Edwards...it was about liberals who see nothing repulsive about Edwards cheating on his wife who is dying from cancer. There is no need for me to attack Edwards politically because I'm confident that the blue collar union worker type that agrees with Edwards on policy still won't vote for him because he's a metrosexual. :)

Until I see different, I'll rate this as I would any other BS right-wing smear job.

Actually, the right wing has nothing to do with it. Right now the Republicans are so disorganized that they can't even field candidates that can win, much less smear some ambulance chasing lawyer from South Carolina who can't win the nomination of his own party, much less the presidency.

Edwards made his bed, now he can sleep in it.

2007-12-18 08:46:18 PM
Weren't there allegations during the first campaign that Clinton had cheated on Hillary? Worked out OK for him. Her too some would argue.

Maybe it's too early to say that this crushes Edwards chances for a nomination. His response, once this hits one of the major news outlets, will be interesting. Does he deny? Does he say that this is something that he confessed to his wife and they have since found comfort in the Lord and have gone to counseling etc?

Maybe it's none of our business. What he does in his personal life is his problem. Everyone has skeletons. Some bonier than others.

If anything conservatives want to run against Edwards and Obama. Most people don't know who they are.

Hillary we know, and she has a past I'm sure will be wheeled out to the delight of the right. But there is no shortage of people who would line up and toss a vote to her just so they can say they voted for the first female president. Especially up here in the NorthEast.

Never under-estimate the power of stupid people in large groups- (On either side of the aisle.)

Yes, yes; whatever negative press occurs has been doled out by the Clinton campaign. The right-wingers have been trying to push this one for a month now, looking for whatever cover they can find to hurl their shiat from. Classic projection technique there.

Here's a clue: It's going to backfire on them big-time, and it's going to be hilarious. The Clinton campaign thinks three steps ahead of whatever dimwit Republican strategist you can put out there, and she's helping her fellow Dems with that knowledge. There is a world of hurt coming for the Republican party and its candidates.

I especially like the story of Newt Gingrich's campaign aide walking the kids home from a park when they come up on Newt Gingrich getting a hummer from a married volunteer. The aide said Newt just looked at her and smiled while the woman just kept pumping away.

Of course, Newtie was married at the time too.

Edwards is from North Carolina.

Any of the Republican nominees can beat Hillary or Obama. Hillary's resume is that she is Bill Clinton's wife and the architect of the failed Hillarycare nationalized healthcare plan in the 1990's. Obama's resume is he did drugs when he was 17 and he knows he wasted a lot of time doing drugs and Oprah is supporting him.

From TFA's Comments:

John Edwards is a realist. He understands that his candidacy for President is highly unlikely and that he needs to savor the little victories in the primary spotlight by catching a piece of volunteer tail while he can. The only reason some people are making this an issue is so they can sell more SubWay sandwiches while you shop this holiday. Think it up, people.

Hmm.
