Article 12/2005

Me thinks this is a bit out of touch...

liverleef: If the headline is a truther reference then please mods don't let this tripe get the greenlight.

It looks like it's a quote from the article.

TFA: "Most people invest and then sit around worrying what the next blowup will be," he says. "I do the opposite. I wait for the blowup, then invest."

Wow so did I, submitter.

I wonder what he bought? Halliburton?

IrateShadow: "I do the opposite. I wait for the blowup, then invest."

This kind of follows the whole "buy low, sell high" philosophy.

5000_gallons_of_toothpaste: This kind of follows the whole "buy low, sell high" philosophy.

Yeah, the article really doesn't provide any sort of insight. It's mostly a human-interest piece.

Worst greenlight ever?

That is what I would do if I had a lot of money. Buy low, sell high.

It went green because the admins and mods are pissing their panties over some silly little overdue loan payments.

PEOPLE WHO GREENLIGHT THREADS I AM CALLING YOU OUT FOR BEING PUSSIES.

Stop.

Leave the scare tactics = ratings to Republicans and Fox News.

Oh wait, I forgot, Fark is the Free Republic: Special Edition.

Pussies.

Mr. Anon: That is what I would do if I had a lot of money. Buy low, sell high.

Actually I would do EXACTLY what this guy does: sell off your tangible assets and investments to make yourself as liquid as possible before all the currencies collapse.

.... wait... what?

If held through 06, he's probably happy right now.

For some reason, though, I don't think more money is what would make this guy happy. He seems deranged.

And by 06 I mean 07...

Ok, I want that 15 minutes of my life back.

I don't know, is there such a thing as too much information? This guy looks like he's reading everything he can get his hands on about this up coming "crash" and there will some sort of down turn. Is he filtering out good from bad? If all you read is the tin foil hat stuff, you'd think the world was going to end tomorrow....

One F Jef: pissing their panties over some silly little overdue loan payments.

That's the poorest summation of what's been going on in the financial markets since the subprimes hit the fan. Well done.

whiskeyinthejar: Worst greenlight ever?

Most definitely.

I found this article: Link (new window)

This "Abraham Lincoln" guy sounds like a nice guy, but I doubt he'll win the election. And he definitely won't have any far-reaching impact on history. We should tell everyone about him.

Green Light it!!!

One F Jef

And the Dems and CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS aren't also doomsaying? WTF hole have you been living in lately?

Szyska: You might want to take off the rose-colored glasses. Given all the objective information about the oil markets, there is very little positive news. There WILL be a downturn in production, and it isn't too far-fetched to think it will be pretty bad, espically since most people are in denial and not preparing for a reduced energy future. Plenty of room for opportunity, espically for someone with gobs of liquidity.

From TFA:
"Rainwater," the voice on the phone announces. "Now, type L-A-T-O-C into Yahoo, and scroll down to the seventh item." Rainwater doesn't use e-mail. Rather, he uses rapid-fire phone calls to spread the gospel he discovers every morning on the web.

This guy uses Yahoo instead of Google and he's a billionaire? The fark did that happen?

I am taking the poor mans approach. I don't have a lot of money, and I don't live where I can be self sustaining. I don't have half a billion in cash and a team of servants, private houses and private yachts.

I have a .30 cal rifle and I'm an expert shot.

What exactly does a billionaire contribute to society?

crunch-o-matic: why do they have to contribute anything?
